You are saved the moment you believe/trust in God's forgiveness.
That would be incorrect.
You are saved the moment you are born of the spirit.
If you have not been born from above, regenerated, you have not been saved.

He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him (1 John 2:10).
So believers never stumble or fall at all? Is that how you interpret 1 John 2:10? Are you using this verse in an effort to support sinless perfection?

Prior to Jesus being arrested, in Matthew 26:31, Jesus told His disciples that they would stumble or fall away because of Him that night. In Proverbs 24:16, we read - For a righteous man may fall seven times And rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity. In James 3:2, we read - For we all stumble in many ways. If anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is mature, able also to control the whole body.

1 John has 5 chapters, it does not end at chapter 1 verse 10.

See my latest response to VCO.

Jesus said you would do GREATER works than him; do yo believe that scripture?

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I DO shall HE DO ALSO; and GREATER works than these shall he do (John 14:12).
I believe John 14:12 which does not teach sinless perfection and it does not negate (1 John 1:8-10).

I never said you must do good works to OBTAIN salvation.

I'll write this off as an innocent oversight on your part.
You said - "The narrow gate is HOW you walk in that faith." HOW do we walk in that faith? In good works. Ephesians 2:10 - For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. So is entering through the narrow gate and being saved by faith or works? We are saved FOR good works and NOT BY good works.

In regards to 1 John 3:9, you favor "doth not sin" (KJV) over "practices sin" (NASB) because the KJV sounds like it supports what you want to hear, namely, sinless perfection.
Not true.

Other translations say what the KJV says (ASV, CSB, HCSB, NKJV, and RSV).

Some weaker translations add "practice".

You are only as effective as the tool you use.

*but you do not believe this.

you go on to say that if one is not demonstrating this belief by doing good works, then salvation can be taken away.

so, do you try to see how many lies and contradictions you can spout off in one day?

Do not the verses you cite emphasise the need for a living faith? Not just belief in our hearts but actively declaring that faith. In other words our faith should motivate us to action, or in other words works in demonstration of our faith.
Our faith should definitely motivate us into action, but works is not necessary for salvation.

So you are saying that the NASB is an unreliable translation? Our English translations are translated from Greek. Other translations say:

AMP - No one who is born of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, because God’s seed [His principle of life, the essence of His righteous character] remains [permanently] in him [who is born again—who is reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, and set apart for His purpose]; and he [who is born again] cannot habitually [live a life characterized by] sin, because he is born of God and longs to please Him.

AMPC - No one born (begotten) of God [deliberately, knowingly, and habitually] practices sin, for God’s nature abides in him [His principle of life, the divine sperm, remains permanently within him]; and he cannot practice sinning because he is born (begotten) of God.

CEB - Those born from God don’t practice sin because God’s DNA remains in them. They can’t sin because they are born from God.

ESV - No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God's seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God.

ISV - No one who has been born from God practices sin, because God’s seed abides in him. Indeed, he cannot go on sinning, because he has been born from God.

NET - Everyone who has been fathered by God does not practice sin, because God’s seed resides in him, and thus he is not able to sin, because he has been fathered by God.

Matthew 26:31, Jesus told His disciples that they would stumble or fall away because of Him that night.
And to this I say that NONE of his disciples truly experienced repentance unto salvation until during and after the events of Christ's capture.

When Peter went out and wept bitterly he began his journey to salvation. Then when all his disciples SAW him after he died, they all truly believed and were saved, particularly Thomas!

He told Thomas:

Because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed (John 20:29).

So you are saying that the NASB is an unreliable translation?
All translations are the word of God and reliable to a point.

I started out on the NIV and it paved the way to where I am now (it only lasted my first year when I was in a pre-saved state). It took me nearly a year to read the NIV.

That said, no other translation punches you in the gut like KJV does. There is power in this translation, my friend.

I truly got saved after reading the KJV, I know it in all my heart! (your experience may differ). Since using the KJV I have read it multuiple times a year! The words just flow so beautifully together that it makes reading the scriptures so easy and pleasurable.

Prior to Jesus' arrest, in Matthew 16:16, we read - Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” In John 20:31, we read - but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name. Jesus also told His disciples that they were clean (John 15:3; 13:10-11 - except for Judas Iscariot) so 11 of His disciples were not lost men prior to His arrest.

John 20:29 is talking about believing that He has been resurrected. Before his death, Jesus told His disciples that he had to die and that he would rise on the third day. However, the disciples were ignorant of its meaning at that time.

“Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem,…And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. (Luke 18:31-34).

After his crucifixion, instead of anxiously waiting his resurrection, the apostles were still ignorant, disheartened at the death of Jesus and did not even at first believe the testimony of his resurrection. (Mark 16:14, Luke 24:19-24) It was not until after his resurrection that Jesus appeared to the apostles and opened their understanding. (Luke 24:44-47)
