Survey as to how Covid 19 is affecting you!!

Here most people are in lock down with the exception of key workers like Hospital Staff. Police and Fire services. We are advised not to go out except for essential shopping and medical reasons. We should have about one hour a day for excercise and practice social distancing. masks are used by some but not everyone. I use one when I go into places to shop.

Our prime Minister is now back at work having experienced the virus himself. He was in intensive care for part of his hospitalisation. The latest figure of deaths in the UK stand over 28,000 as from yesterday (Saturday). We have no idea at present when things will be back to normal.

From a personal standpoint my self and my wife are more fortunate than others. We are both retired and receive pensions so
unemployment isnt a problem we have to face like many people. We have a small garden so we can get some fresh air without needing to use public open spaces. It still is frustrating to live like this though.

We use zoom to contact Church members for fellowship, worship and speak to relatives by Phone

It has had no effect on my life.
We only go out on Sunday to meet with our small bible study group and stop by the local family owned market for necessary supplies and gas.

Not really affected by Covid-19.....maybe I've had it, I don't know. Lockdown measures have certainly impacted me....my wife's weekly visits from a community care team for people with mental health issues, they were cancelled and replaced with a phone call, then she had a breakdown and had to be hospitalized....during her 8 day stay my son and I couldn't visit of course, but we did wave from the parking lot. I'm now a teacher of my 6 year old....because of my wife's situation I was given time off at work thankfully, and even before I was only working 1/2 my regular shifts because we're staffing to minimal levels.

In terms of covid-19....I actually only know of one person who's had it, its been posted to facebook that one of my high school classmates contracted it from the LTC facility she works in along with some others, the infected are quarantined in a motel apparently.

The major effect that it has had on our life is on our church programs. We have discontinued our Sunday school programs and community activities ministry thru May. We hold outdoor drive up worship services, and record our worship service for our senior citizens who can't attend the outdoor services.

Other than the effect that it has had on our church services, we have saved a lot of money by not dining out and from low gas prices.

Thank God for DUO. We can keep in close face to face contact with the rest of the family.

My husband and I are also retired, our income hasn't changed at all. But our expenses have dropped dramatically! My past Visa Bill was $22 and my last MC was $35. We buy almost no gas, and when we do, it has dropped so much. It was $.84 a litre, from $1.29 before the epidemic was declared. There is no where to go. Hubby is buying all our groceries, but I am making bread from scratch- I grind the grain and use a bread maker. I've also been baking cookies and muffins. Plus, using up things in my pantry and deep freeze.

We do various video platforms. Zoom for church, messenger chat, kids messenger chat, & Face Time. I'm so feel trapped. I would like a lot more bedding plants, but the line ups to get into the gardening stores are forever. Hubby buys parts. He doesn't get that we are still quarantined, wants to drive 8 hours to look at a trailer, or pull the sailboat to a fix it place in Vancouver. He so very healthy, but if he gets COVID-19, I could die of it, because if the immune suppressing drugs I am on, and heart and lung issues, maybe liver.

I've been gardening, got my herbs into pots, set up the veggies, tomorrow I hope to get some of the raised beds planted. Then flower pots, and last, trimming the debris off the perennials. Life continues, I guess!

Major effect is Church. But that has rectified itself with the easing of restrictions.

As for my personal life, no real effect whatsoever. I still do what I did before all this. The only possible change is watching the people around me to see if they are acting sickly or coughing/sneezing. But, I did that before also because I can't take a lot of antibiotics and/or vaccines for various illnesses.

I have not had a shortage of any food/dry goods items. I have saved a bunch on fuel. Gas here has been around $1.40 a gallon for some time now.

Covid-1984 is not affecting me, but the government's silly rules sure are. As a vaccine-denier, I'm just not interested.

However, if anyone can offer a vaccination against governments and their power trips, I think I would be tempted.

As a high school and college professor, COVID-19 has not impacted my life much, beyond forcing me to hastily learn how to do distance teaching. Plus, now that I don't drive to work (60 miles a day) and we don't go out to restaurants, I find that I have a little more spending money. For those good folks (2/3 of them) who can't work from home, this pandemic has been horrible and will continue to get worse.

We all though Obama was the President who saw the national debt go up the highest on his watch; now it will be Trump. I'm not throwing around blame, I am just stating some facts.

its not affecting me personally, but quarantine measures are affecting other people because they are not used to isolating themselves...maybe theyve never been sick before or known suffering and they just dont know how to handle it.
or they havent prepared themselves.

I think people need to learn how to be flexible and resilient when crises come, but some people just dont cope well with it cos they are banking on everyone continuing to be in good health all the time. airlines running, businesses carrying on 'as usual' when a lot of those businesses arent actually essential and they dont have much leeway. events being cancelled or postpone is no big deal really, but for some a minor frustration is a huge deal.

ive always thought people were being irresponsible to encourgae people that are sick to keep working. or parents sending their child to school without checking if they were unwell.

God gave us a day in which to rest but a lot of people havent actually been observing it for many years so they just dont know what to do with themselves when told NOT to work.

I haven't worked for nearly ten years. Its called retirement. I know what to do with myself normally but thats when Im able to go
outside without risking illness or death

I'm making more money drawing unemployment than I do when I'm working however I want life to go back to normal again

You should return the overage to the state.

Life will not be normal for a long time... and many things will be changed permanently.
