So are you Game?
Give it a try?
I don't play with Trolls. I identify them so that the sincere, kindhearted believers here are not taken in by their deceptive words.........

Wait, what? We can't pick the verse we have questions about, you won't give any answers for the questions we do have...

Where's the benefit in this again? Like, for anybody?

Lion - I'll field this one. Lynx is a little slow on the draw, so I'll give this a go. Now, see Lynx, what you do is pick a verse, you know, and then ask a question about it. And you have to write out the question, see, so everybody can see your question. Then (and I think this is the fun part) nobody answers it! See? it's uh... it's fun.

i don't really know what I'm talking about.

Yes nobody ever benefited from questions?
it a bit kick in the pride of everyone who thinks they have all the answers.

I would rather take a good question I have not considered before to God for an answer any day.

How can we draw near to God?
He will not draw near to us first?
How does cleans your hands and purify your heart fit in here?
It that how you draw near to God??

"Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded." - James 4:8

How do we purify our hearts?
So, I'm guessing that this isn't a literal hand cleansing, so what does hand cleansing represent? I know Jesus washed people's feet at the last supper. Is cleansing our hands somewhere in that same vein?
I know we're all sinners and have fallen short of God's glory, but is He is talking to believers here who are drawing near to God? What does He mean by this mention of calling us sinners? It reminds me of when Jesus told his disciples on the boat.. "Oh ye of little faith." Is this an admonishment like that?
So when we're not drawing near to God, is that how we become double minded? What exactly is double minded?
Is there a relationship here with verse 7 where He tells us to Submit to God, and drawing near to God. What is the difference? What does this look like in our daily lives?

What are you laughing about?
What is your joy?
Is this still about drawing near to God?
If cleansing your hands and purifying your heart is how you draw near to God?
Is this how you cleanse your hands and purify your heart?

Does this seem all backwards from what you hear in Church?
Are we not supposed to be all joy in the Lord?
How is this going to make anything better?

It makes a lot more sense if you read it in context with the rest of the chapter.

Not a good game, if you have questions ask the Lord.
Their is a cowardice in an unquestioned faith.
Their is a faith in God to question.
To seek a truth that is not our own.

Best Game Ever!
You get better questions to ask God.

Humble yourselves in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you. - James 4:10

Humble how, by being miserable, by weeping and mourning?
Over what?
Are we still talking about how to draw near to God?
Or is this what to do when you get there in his presence?
Sounds a lot like the description of:
The Publican vrs The Pharisee
Who gets it right, who comes away justified and who does not?
What heart does God lift up and what heart does God oppose?
Which heart is yours?

Father Give us the answer we need, not just things for us to think we know something but the Spirit and Life of the Truth so we may live and know you, and be saved.

Here we go again... :eek:o_O

GyO you must NEVER question Lion222. It doesn't do any good and just drags things out. He will get the last word or die trying.
