So, in your interpretation, What nationality are they?

Now this is the genealogy of Esau, who is Edom.
(Genesis 36:1)
what is to be interpreted?

in 1 Kings 11:1 --

"King Solomon loved many foreign women . . . women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites . . ."
not Israelites.

You agree that Jacob's nationality is Israel. Why are you confused about Esau's nationality, as Jacob and Esau are twins?

"Israel" are the sons of Jacob, whom God names Israel.

your sister's children are not yours, but hers.
they are your father's grandchildren as much as your children are also -

and so the Edomites are children of Abraham, as are the Ishmaelites.
but your nephews are not your sons, but your nephews.

it's pretty straightforward.

1 Kings 11:1 calls the Edomites "foreign" to Israel.

which is more likely; God is confused? or you?
Jacob is still a twin brother to Esau, both are Israelites, and yes, Esau is an enemy to Jacob, whose name is now Israel. There is a very strong indication that you are confused. You are interpreting the word Israel to mean the whole nation of Israel, when in actuality, in a lot of instances, the word Israel is referring to Jacob.

Rom 11:26, And so all Israel (Jacob=God's elect, for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood, out of every kindred, and tongue, and people and nation, Rev 5:9) shall be saved; as it is written, there shall come out of Sion the deliverer, and shall turn away ungodliness from Jacob (who is named Israel).

The "Israel" that is Jacob consists, not only of the twelve tribes of Jacob, but consists of all of God's elect people from every kindred, tongue, people, and nation. The 12 tribes of Jacob is not all of the nation of Israel, but only a part of that nation.

Both and even in the New Testament, it refers to believing Jews...

Galatians 6:16 (KJV) And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.
You are absolutely right, Sometimes the scriptures are referring to the nation of Israel, and sometimes they are referring to Jacob, as Israel.

Nor the generations of Jacob.
I like your "favorite bible verse" most especially in this day and time that so many are forsaking the assembling of themselves together for the purpose of worshiping and praising God.
