No TV or movies?

Have you too noticed all of the unpleasantness in TV and movies? Do you like hearing OMG, which in my opinion is taking God's name in vain, or hearing the profanities? Do you want to end up with such a mouth? Do you like the scenes of blood and gore? Then why would you listen and watch? Are you filling your minds with such unpleasantries? Are there any secular shows on TV that do not have these unpleasantries? Is Satan deceiving you and everybody else?

Romans 12:2 Be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Phillipians 4:8 ... whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Some people really have nothing better to do. Or they are so tired by the end of the day that they don't have the energy to find something better to do.

Which is really sad, because all the plots are recycled, all the characters are blatant tropes, all the themes are so heavy-handed that the viewer gets smacked upside the head with them and the commercials keep getting louder and more stupid.

(Yeah, I don't watch TV. Not because of any reasons listed in the OP... I just can't tolerate all the plot holes, logic disconnects and predictable plot devices for very long at a time.)

Instead of railing against TV and movies, try giving people alternatives. What are you interested in? What do you do for fun? Try getting others interested in it.

On a related note, I spent a year drunk for research purposes (so many people I knew seemed to enjoy it that I thought there HAD to be something to it) and I found out I can sit and watch TV very well when I have shut my brain off with alcohol. That is the ONLY time I can sit and watch TV, and that's just not worth it.

Christian Chat Staff said Alesa posted too much, and it was too hard to DELETE all of her posts. She was banned from using Christian Chat. Guess I will be banned next for telling you.
