Talking about bible studies

I moved in with mom when I finished college in May 2019, and ever since then I have been doing bible studies, cause my mom wants time to them with her and I was interested overall, but now I understand how important bible studies are. Like we can read the Bible, but there is a huge difference from just reading, to actually trying understand what certain verses mean and all that.

The Bible studies I’ve done so far are:

-Raised Together by Gloria Furman (This one wasn’t bad, but it was hard to do cause it got really “wordy” for a lack of a better term. Like me and my mom would stare at a question, not really knowing how to answer it)

-Beloved Disciple by Beth Moore (Me and my mom really enjoyed this bible study, it felt more personal overall and taught great lessons, learned a lot about John by doing this bible study)

-Jeremiah: Daring to hope in an Unstable world by Melissa Spoelstra (This one was really great too, in fact our bible study group enjoyed this author so much, they did another study from her as our next bible study)

-Romans: Good News that changes everything by Melissa Spoelstra (Just as great as her Jeremiah study)

But yeah, I miss doing studies because the virus has basically shut down everything, like we are able to go to church, but they aren’t doing studies or any Sunday school classes. I know online studies exist, but I think doing them with other people, in real life, is something I prefer, even though I find it hard to be social in real life.

Bible study is essential to growing as a Christian. Just make sure to also research the individuals teaching the course. Get a good assessment of the individual for example Beth Moore has her critics.

In less you are in 100% lockdown then you can still meet. Just follow the CDC's guidelines. Judge me how you may but my study group meets at a house. We do not follow the guidelines at the house. We all are young so we are not that worried about it. Of course, the older group members are still not attending.

And yes, it is from a church in the US so the books are in English. (i normally speak Spanish if you know or entered the post of my presentation; just in case you had doubts)
