I think Youtube has Pros and Cons.

The Pros are that Youtube has so much variety in videos that you can learn so much stuff. If I never watched AVGN, then I wouldn’t learn about how gaming was in the 1980s-1990s, Channel Awesome with their movie reviews and videos different movie topics, is what got me into looking deeper into movies, and I could keep going on for so many examples of stuff I’ve learned and found interest in now thanks to Youtube. Also, Youtube has content, if you now where to look, that is honestly better than most TV shows today, and people being creative like with making cartoons and funny video edits, is cool cause I’m into creative stuff.

The Cons however are pretty big, Youtube copyright and how Youtube can’t seem to manage videos (Yes I am aware of the existence of the “Spider Man and Elsa” videos...and while they are bad, I can at least warn people about said videos thanks to all the videos I’ve seen covering those...horrendous things, lol) with letting awful content into its website. Also, for a Christian there is stuff to watch...but it depends on how you look for stuff and what you are willing to watch. During this virus stuff, which has helped me to strengthen my faith for God, I basically un-followed a lot of the anime reviewing channels I was subscribed to cause they were okay with reviewing anime with homosexuality and even some of the channel creators saying they support stuff, that I didn’t like them supporting. So I unfollowed them, and as I look at what subscriptions I have left, I might unfollow more channels, however I’m still deciding what I’m okay with watching and whatnot. I will admit, I watch a good amount of youtubers that use curse words, quite regularly for reasons to make the review funnier, and that’s where the Christian discernment of deciding of what to watch and not to watch comes into place. One final note, Youtube has targeted ADs in most videos, and there are times I get ADs I really don’t want to see, cause their ADs work on what you have watched on YouTube, searched for on google, etc.

So with all of that, that’s my opinion. Share your opinions too if you want to ^_^

It is a tool. And just like a hammer, it can be used to build something or tear something down.

Also, Spider-Man and Elsa? I have never heard of such, and I use YouTube just about every day. Where in the world did you hear about that?!

Youtube is a tool, an avenue to be used.

Some, if not the majority, use it for evil

Some, probable the few, use it for good.

And a FEW use it to spread the Good News...

That's the thing about tools..............in and of themselves, they are neither good or evil. It's HOW they are used that determines their worth.

I dont watch too much of it, its there if Im looking something up, handy to find clips of things. Music, how to make stuff, or just practical tips.
I dont like the ads a lot of them have at the beginning though.

I havent made a clip myself, but I think just about anybody can make one if youve got a camera on your device.

like anything online, if you looking for rubbish you inevitably find more rubbish. Garbage in, garbage our right? And finding gold isnt easy amongst the dross.

I listen to K Hagin Sr w/headphones when I'm resting. I like the Hallmark movies and various shows, usually from the past. One sad thing is my tenant's 9yo daughter watching the goofiest videos. I thought man that stuff is not healthy for her, some were on the adult side.
People looking for wacky stuff will find it there and people looking for useful stuff will do the same, so I'm all for it.
Btw, cute Pokémon, I must remember to wear shades whenever around it:cool:.

There used to be a better video at explaining why hundreds of videos of the same bad content would appear, but apparently it's been removed. Basically the algorithm tries to recommend similar videos, so people would notice how popular certain topics would get, so they'd create their own with the same topics, resulting it the algorithm prioritizing even more of the same content, and content creators trying to outdo each other in getting kids to click on their video instead of others so the content just spiraled down and out of control.

Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things. Phil 4:8

As you grow strong in the Lord you learn that a pure and holy mind is part of walking in the anointing of the Holy Spirit and the power of God.

You will not want to think on things that are not pleasing to God. Many things will offend you that did not offend you in the past.

The problem with videos, movies, media of all types and even the wrong kind of books is that you fill your mind with these video clips, movies, stories, that replay themselves in your mind and it is at these times when you are somewhere maybe trying to study a book about the word of God or you are praying more than 5 minutes and your mind starts to wander and you find yourself replaying some movie and you suddenly realize what a bunch of garbage it really was and how offensive to the mind you really want to have. And that is when you know how important it is to guard your mind and heart from all these "entertainment" related things that will just keep playing over again once you have seen them. Better to fill your mind with teachings about the bible so that they will replay and keep your mind in the Spirit.

Yeah, you would not BELIEVE some of the books that are out there!

We never should have left scrolls. The scrolls in the temple were holy and consecrated. Switching to books was a big mistake. Books are of the devil! :p

Very important point you have made, Dr. Caroline Leaf speaks on how every thought we have produces a protein like structure in the brain, if the thought is not in line with the Galatians 5 attributes of love, joy, peace, etc, this structure is malformed and the neuro peptides it produces wreak havoc in the body, she mentions that "most people don't think about what they think about".

Some books, like a steamy pornographic romance novel is of the devil. Reading it puts that "imagined video" or ungodly dialog in your mind and it plays in your head. We have to reject and refuse to read those kinds of books. I am sure you agree. :)

Scribe I was being facetious. Come on man, you should know me better than that by now. I was emphasizing that any tool can be used for good or evil, but some focus on the evil a tool can do and call for it to be banned.

"Baseball bats can be used to bludgeon people, injuring them or even killing them! Many thugs use baseball bats! Baseball bats should be banned!"

Actually as a Lynx I should probably instead show feline solidarity and call for vacuum cleaners to be banned. Just think of all the cats who have been frightened out of at least three of their nine lives by a vacuum.

It's a choice, When I keep an image of Jesus in my head, in the movie screen of the mind, there is no room for anything un-Godly. Dr. Leak and others have much to say about how we can rewire the brain and defeat the unhealthy, un-Godly images and thoughts. It is essential.

You might find it funny but i am pretty sure i would not have come to faith so quickly or gained so much knowledge about the bible if youtube was not around. I literally turned onto christian with the help of a video from CHRIS WHITE about David ike and the new age deception. So i can not say too many bad things about youtube BUT i will say this, youtube and all platforms (at least the major ones) have political agendas and they manage the information and circulation of content in a way that would serve their point of view; whether it is through shadow banning or demonetizing channels or using copyright claims.
And also i have to say i've got more awaken in youtube than in 15 years of college.
Subjects like school shootings, masonry, 9/11, Gulf war, JFK, MK ultra, Project paperclip, Nuclear weapons...And i even learned how to speak and write in English mostly just by using youtube randomly
