I can not join you because when I awoke, I had a cup of coffee and two pieces of dry Wheat toast. I do think fasting is a good thing, and I do not think it can only be done on a special day, but I am not sure about that.

Yay! I didn't see this until after the fasting day was over! Score one for the Snicker's bar! (Truth is I don't even like Snicker's, but, hey, not tempting anyone because fasting day is over. lol)

=======================================================

a good point, Joi,

with us, it has not been usually talked about during...but, what we were taught and learned,
during and after, our Father has had us share, some, as He has led us...
plus, in certain instances, there were witnesses to what our Father was putting us through in order
to teach us and prayerfully, others...

sometimes we just need to share in Love how our Father has taught us so many bless-ed things,
even if we don't understand, we learn to put our Trust in Him through His Blessed Sacrifice...

it can really be exciting when we realize that there are so many brand-new-things to learn, day-by-day!
if our hearts are open/accepting and realizing that we MUST put-off the 'OLD', - it is a main-KEY to the
opening-up of brand-new doors in our everyday lives that brings us closer and closer
to our Holy Saviour, King, Creator, Jesus Christ our Lord...

If I don't eat until 3 pm, I call that being busy and forgetfulness, not fasting......

I agree with you. I don't think we fast enough. Talk negative too much, and here's most likey why. Were all tempted, and the disciples asked Jesus, why couldn't we cast out the demons, Jesus said, "with some it takes fasting and prayer."
Not only to be set free, but also to take a spiritual strategic stand, in fasting, against the temptations, or fasting for someone,,
It is putting the flesh down, and it's need for food, how long well if you only drink water, it will dilute your ph balance and flush your potassium and sodium and one women died on a water fast of 2 weeks. It doesn't say how long, a meal A day, but as we are lead. Something that really needs to be incorporated into our lives, being disciplined, in prayer and fasting.

Not me...fasting is still a pretty bad idea for me due to the fact that I am not an adult yet...

I'd have about four hours to achieve that goal. I can do it. I have Kafir, protein drinks, and plenty of mineral water in the fridge.
Of course, I also have ice cream in the freezer....that's a liquid. Sorta. Once it reaches my warm tummy it's a liquid.

OK, ignoring the freezer now.

How often do you fast? :) As inspiration for the rest of us.
==========================
sogg,
hub and I make a distinction between 'health fasting vs Spiritual fasting' -
HF would be something like drinking nothing but grapefruit juice,
but,
a Spiritual Fast would be that one would NOT take-in ANY 'food or liquid'...
we have learned by experience to 'fast only when God leads us', and not
get into any kind of pattern, as mentioned in the Bible, as 'twice a week'...
LUKE 18:12.
I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.

the whole 'point' is about the right 'attitude', and discerning when
is the appropriate time...
