I never really got the republican vs democrat thing in the US
it just sounds exactly like the silly national vs labour thing in nz, but more extreme. They can never just get along. Both think they are right and the other is wrong.

in nz because its based on westminster parliament and a constutional monarchy we can appeal to the Crown i.e the Queen. The treaty of waitangi was signed so that everyone who lives here has this royal protection (grace and favour) but in practice it doesnt always work.

But thankfully, one saving grace is that the current Queen is a christian. Not all the royal family are christians and many havent acted that way when they were crowned..history is testament to that.

it is a case that when the righteous are in rule, people are happy but when its the wicked, people mourn. This happened in Israel too after they had judges when people asked Samuel for a king. There were actually not many righteous kings. The only truly righteous king was someone who didnt even want to be king of Judah...our Lord Jesus Christ...and he didnt even get to be king of Israel on earth at the time.

All you need to understand in American politics is currently the differences in views of either party are like night and day. Good and evil. If Democrats gain power, the world should tremble as you will see a swift transition from a country who sends aid, religious missionaries, protection all around the world, helps fight to secure religious freedom and liberty for others, to a country hungry for power and who's party is quite cozy with China. You will see a weak response to China's advancement in the South China Sea, their advance in military, and war drills/ test fires, including a video simulation they leaked of them blowing up a US base Guam.

Like it or not, this time period will be a pivot point.

(Before all this nonsense begins. We should study thd examples and words of past Supreme court judges. In no way did they check their faith at the door. It takes faith in God to be a great judge. After all God is the perfect judge to learn from.)
hurray. exactly

and wonderful that a person can pray before, during and even after and God hears even if no one else does.

these atheists do worship a god. the god of this world and he is a ruthless creature and hateful of all things godly and good

we are always in a spiritual war and that is what the Christian needs to understand and remember

A person who believes from the head and not the heart will use the name God and leave out the name of Jesus. If that Supreme Court Justice Judge doesn’t understand Sanctification, the works of the flesh will rule them also. They will be under the snare of the Devil, who are taken by him at his will. 2 Tim. 2:24-26
you twist scripture as easily as Biden when he quotes half a verse at the end of one of his evil advertisements

God used a donkey at one point. it's not about you dude.

a snare of the devil would be fooling yourself into thinking you somehow are righteous enough to judge hearts

what have you done for this country? anything of note?

I think most of the members of this site would agree that Christian judges should not check their faith at the door. However, what about judges who are Jewish, Hindu, or even Moslem? In a pluralistic society, is it right to demand different requirements for people of different faiths?

Gone are the days when elected legislators were the ones who made the laws. Now, in many countries, laws are actually made by judges, because legal precedent becomes law. Legislators just pass mushy-language bills and leave the judges to decide what those bills actually mean in practice.
we are not responsible for all of that. so what about them? a Jewish judge just died. I don't think she represented that faith very well

is it right to demand different requirements for people of different faiths?
we have a God, or THE God actually, who hears and answers prayer. the devil has his people in place also but he can only copy

perhaps prayer to GOD has turned the tide abit?

Yes most definitely. I taught a 12 week study on spiritual warfare but centered on the Armor of God and God opened my eyes to the bigger picture of 2 Kingdoms, 2 rulers, 2 armies containing the Spiritual and physical realm. Angels, demons, children of light, children of darkness. As soon as we are recruited through our allegiance to Christ, we find ourselves in this schism between a realm we had never noticed. We are about to see this realm meet in the coming weeks as they try to pass Barret through. God gave this opportunity and it will be 1 step of many where God says ok America, choose your future. Judgement or grace, patience, and forgiveness to return to Him. I believe God is hearing our prayers, pleas, cries as the evil, injustices, and violence rips the nation apart.

If God can change the heart of a Nebuchadnezzar or cause 3 different Great Awakenings. He can change the direction of this country once again.

According to the Word of God, this country and the world are going to get darker. The bible says right before the Rapture it would be as the "Days of Lot" (LGBTQ). Knowledge would increase (women having children without men, cloning animals, space travel, etc.)

Yes but it can get a heck of a lot darker. We do not know the day or the hour but soon and God's patience has expanded for 2000 years. Slavery was dark times, the Civil war was dark times, the Spanish flu, the world wars, the race wars, the cold war, etc. We can be the light of hope or to further spread doom and gloom while suicides are on the rise, our spiritual brothers and sisters are needing encouragement, and the lost are looking for answers. We move as if this world has 1000 more years, but always stayed prepared for when the master returns.

Matthew 24:44-51
New International Version

44 So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.
45 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of the servants in his household to give them their food at the proper time? 46 It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns. 47 Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions. 48 But suppose that servant is wicked and says to himself, ‘My master is staying away a long time,’ 49 and he then begins to beat his fellow servants and to eat and drink with drunkards. 50 The master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect him and at an hour he is not aware of. 51 He will cut him to pieces and assign him a place with the hypocrites, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

We are not to be idle no matter our expectations of when the master will return.

God always gives a choice and nowhere is that better illustrated then with His dealings with the Israelites as He gave the law through Moses.

Jesus said to always pray ... with thanksgiving that He hears us

I agree re the armor in Ephesians. I will add that when we see this spiritual battle spilling over into the physical realm, we know how intense it is becoming

God is a lot more patient, forgiving, and loving than I ever could be. As many warnings and chances He gave the Israelites before the exile and 1st temple destruction, just to have them return, rebel, return, rebel. It would seem to be easier to just flood the world again lol.

I believe in freedom of religion and freedom from religion. This isn't a Christian nation, nor was this nation designed to be a Christian nation. To pretend the US is a Christian nation is to turn a blind eye to a multitude of inconsistencies of our past and present laws. Our civil laws do not reflect God's laws. I do not believe in a theocracy, though I do believe Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world. There is overlapping between both laws, but that doesn't make it one and the same.

In short, in my house, it is a theocracy, a Christian home. Outside the home, the US is not a theocracy, nor should it be.

You may not understand the concept of America being called a Christian Nation. I'll share some info so you may do more research.

Supreme Court Justice David Brewer (1837-1910) explained:

n what sense can [America] be called a Christian nation? Not in the sense that Christianity is the established religion or that the people are in any manner compelled to support it. On the contrary, the Constitution specifically provides that “Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.” Neither is it Christian in the sense that all its citizens are either in fact or name Christians. On the contrary, all religions have free scope within our borders. Numbers of our people profess other religions, and many reject all. Nor is it Christian in the sense that a profession of Christianity is a condition of holding office or otherwise engaging in public service, or essential to recognition either politically or socially. In fact, the government as a legal organization is independent of all religions. Nevertheless, we constantly speak of this republic as a Christian nation – in fact, as the leading Christian nation of the world.

So, if being a Christian nation is not based on any of the above criterion, then what makes America a Christian nation? According to Justice Brewer, America was “of all the nations in the world . . . most justly called a Christian nation” because Christianity “has so largely shaped and molded it.”

Constitutional law professor Edward Mansfield (1801-1880) similarly acknowledged:

In every country, the morals of a people – whatever they may be – take their form and spirit from their religion. For example, the marriage of brothers and sisters was permitted among the Egyptians because such had been the precedent set by their gods, Isis and Osiris. So, too, the classic nations celebrated the drunken rites of Bacchus. Thus, too, the Turk has become lazy and inert because dependent upon Fate, as taught by the Koran. And when in recent times there arose a nation [i.e., France] whose philosophers [e.g. Voltaire, Rousseau, Diderot, Helvetius, etc.] discovered there was no God and no religion, the nation was thrown into that dismal case in which there was no law and no morals. . . . In the United States, Christianity is the original, spontaneous, and national religion.
Founding Father and U. S. Supreme Court Chief Justice John Marshall agreed:
[W]ith us, Christianity and religion are identified. It would be strange, indeed, if with such a people our institutions did not presuppose Christianity and did not often refer to it and exhibit relations with it.

Another explanation was ruled by the Supreme court

U.S. Supreme Court stated in the 1892 case of Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States, written by Justice David Josiah Brewer (143 U.S. 457-458, 465-471, 36 L ed 226):

Justice Brewer continued in Church of the Holy Trinity v. United States:

“While because of a general recognition of this truth the question has seldom been presented to the courts, yet we find that in Updegraph v. The Commonwealth, it was decided that,

‘Christianity, general Christianity, is, and always has been, a part of the common law … not Christianity with an established church … but Christianity with liberty of conscience to all men.’

In short, there is no charter or constitution that is either infidel, agnostic, or anti-Christian.

Wherever there is a declaration in favor of any religion it is of the Christian …

I could show how largely our laws and customs are based upon the laws of Moses and the teachings of Christ;

how constantly the Bible is appealed to as the guide of life and the authority in question of morals.”

https://patriotpost.us/opinion/62099-supreme-court-america-a-christian-nation-2019-04-01

Here is a short explanation on how the Bible affected our founding documents.

https://pilgrimsbeacon.com/bible-inspired-americas-founding-documents/

Constitutional scholar Daniel Dreisbach-

"The Bible was “the most authoritative and accessible book” of eighteenth century America. Christian and skeptic alike appealed to the Bible in support of their arguments. The founders who drafted the Constitution appealed to Scripture more frequently than any other source. Dreisbach noted that scholar Donald Lutz has identified one third of the citations in the literature of the founders as being from the Bible. Deuteronomy was the most frequently cited book."

Another source:

Donald S. Lutz, The Origins of American Constitutionalism (Baton Rouge: Louisiana State University Press, 1988), p. 141. Shows the Bible being 34% of the total direct quotes by the Founding Fathers vs. the next biggest number of quotes – 22% from the “Enlightenment.”

Basically, America is a Christian Nation based on history, the origin of law, and moral foundation with the concept of God given rights.

To be anything else you must destroy American history, the Declaration, Constitution, Bill of Rights, and moral structural Institutes like the Church.

Which is why all of these are under attack.

British and American Law at one time were based on Biblical Truth and time some extent still are, thus our cultures have been shaped by this much more than say, a country like Iran whose culture is founded upon Sharia Law and the Quran.

I would even say our foundation of law still is based in Biblical truth via the Declaration, Constitution, and Bill of rights. Not including the many laws that do provide security or justice for immorality. Granted over time we have added bad laws with no bases in morality or Biblical truth. But so far the foundation still stands. As to why radical liberals want to uproot the whole system. They know this truth and to silence the Church is the last battlefield to win.

I thought america was a republic, not a theocracy.

america already maufactures arms and weapons that it supplies to whatever country wants buy them, whoever is in power there. Also I thought it was president nixon who first went to China for friendly relations and he was a republican.

I dont think its as black and white as you are making out. sorry.
