Has anyone had any luck going into stores wearing a "breathable mask?"

I am not a driver. But I see no harm in stopping at red lights if that's the law, even if it isn't always necessary. However, if it endangered my health - my life - or others - to be stopping at a red light - than it's clear it shouldn't be done. But stopping at a red light isn't harmful - and so one should do so even when not necessary - in order to not violate the laws of government. One shouldn't violate governmental laws, unless they are harmful or against God's Word.
exactly. but wearing a mask in public places in proximity to strangers isn't harmful and isn't against God's word -- while in the present situation not wearing one is potentially harming others.

same here. my workplace requires one, and all of the municipalities in my area have temporary laws requiring them when entering any business. so i comply without complaint.

my area is heavily politically Republican -- so, as you ought to expect, about 70% of the people here break these laws flagrantly.
((because 'party of law and order' LOL??))
but i will not be counted a lawbreaker with them just because of some kind of worldly partisanship or because i think i know better than the lawmaker so 'it's OK for me to break it'

IMO you guys flagrantly violating mask & distancing ordinances are not acting as Christians; i don't see the Bible supporting what you're doing. this isn't a question of your ability to freely praise God or preach the gospel being infringed on -- and you're not being kept from doing anything God commands. Acts 5:39 is not relevant here.
i agree, but keep in mind that the gov. is using the virus to seize more control.

it is a razor edge balance to love our neighbor while not overly submitting to a tyrannical gov..

I respect your views. But health matters to God, and I see it as God's will for me to protect my health by not wearing a mask that makes it hard for me to breathe, as I am a "temple of the Holy Ghost." I don't expect all Christians to agree on this subject of the masks. I believe all Christians need to obey their consciences, as the Bible says it is a sin to disobey one's conscience. However, not all Christians are correct on the subject, I believe. And I believe God wants His people to understand, as much as is possible - what His will is in this matter. Especially if masks would be hard on their health - as God wants us all to do all we can to keep healthy - as we are temples of the Holy Ghost.
on a good day while i'm not sick i can only use 80% of my lung function. it was contracting a debilitating pulmonary infection that actually brought me to CC -- i could hardly leave my bed for a year, so i turned to the internet to try to find discussions about God & the Bible to pass the time, & if i could in any way, make good use of it. at that time i rapidly went from 100% to about 30% lung function -- tho i'm way better now it left me with permanently reduced breathing capacity.
((Mrs. post says it's like i already had covid, years ago, lol))

how many of you are as bad off as me, breathing wise?
but i can breathe just fine in a mask?

bit of a rant, but whenever i hear that 'can't breathe' argument i'm like, really? is it really so difficult? because i know what it's like to really struggle to take a breath.

I can easily see and understand the differing opinions-problems-options, -
for myself, I stay at home at lot, because I simply don't want to deal
with what is excessively-going-on right now in S&G, it brings me way to much grief -
I can handle it, but God is sparing me much right now, I'm very thankful for this, TYJ... -
with that said, I do agree with Post about not purposely putting myself in harms way
so that it may result in being abused or even arrested -
I don't believe a Christian should invite confrontation upon themselves, unless The Holy Spirit leads...
frankly, the masks do interfere with my breathing, so my remedy for this is to pull it just below my nose,
also this prevents my glasses from fogging up as much...
just a share from a reluctant but obedient 'mask-wearer'...

Love youse guys...

by the way, here is something that the media won't tell you-

the u.s. has gotten about 2.1 million test results over the last 2 days, with only about 110,000 positive.

that is hovering right at the 5% benchmark the health officials tell us that going under that means that we are gaining some containment of the virus.

Yes, those who find it difficult to breathe - understand what that's like, better than anyone else! As is true of other things. What we experience is what we understand the best. And we are better able to sympathize with those who have had similar problems as ourselves. God is broadminded - and so wise about us, compared to us - He understands people's problems all the time - while humans often find it difficult to sympathize or understand the problems others have that are different from our own.

2 Cor 1:3-4

3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;

4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.
KJV
I pray that God will intervene in your situation in the best way possible! I pray He'll help you to as much as possible - to be healthy throughout the rest of your life!

I wonder what is the cause of your lung problem? In any case, I pray God gives you relief for your lung problem!

I respect your views on the assumed "necessity" of the masks. But I and others are sincerely convinced otherwise - including sincere Christians. So we must each do what we sincerely believe is right in this and in all spiritual matters, in light of the scriptures. We can't help it if we can't understand the scriptures 100% the same. The important thing is to have received salvation through Jesus and to be headed for heaven.

does covering your mouth with a cloth prevent you from serving God?

this does not apply to the situation IMO and it should not be abused as tho it gives you the right to pick & choose what laws to obey what to ignore -- the context of Acts 5 is that the apostles were being told not to preach Christ. this is not the context of 'please cover your mouth and nose there is a highly contagious virus being spread'

we've got stores with 'no shirt no shoes no service' rules.
would i be right to go into those places in nothing but my skivvies and claim "
must obey God rather than men" ??

if we cannot be faithful in small things..
what kind of example are we to the world?
Yes, it would be drawing me away from God - since to me - it would be a sin to wear it unless forced to wear one. Since I believe God wants me healthy. And I also believe many Christians and others are believing the media, rather than relying much more heavily on God's Word - in deciding what God approves of or does not approve of for us.
Yes, as you say - the Bible says we must be faithful in both the big things and the small things. To do otherwise, is lazy Christianity, and is not acceptable to God. But we all understand what is big and small differently. That can't be helped in this life. The important thing here - is to be fully surrendered to God, and praying daily for His help and guidance, and doing one's best to always be obedient to God, and to always sincerely repent of all sin in daily life. God accepts such ones and forgives their sins - and they are headed for heaven - a much better place to be than this short life here on earth.

while i do not agree with mask mandates, private businesses do have the right to make up policies .

so, when a retailor requires a mask, i wear one. no one is forcing me to go in there.
Yes, businesses have the right to make their rules. But we also have the right to challenge them if we see that their rules are harmful. That's what I sincerely believe. Jesus did that often and so did the apostles. But I respect your views. Each person must do what their conscience tells them to do until or unless they come to understand differently. That's what the Bible says.

I am curious. Do you agree with the following 2 points?
  1. You can spread covid-19, even while you display no symptoms.
  2. And if so, wearing a face mask helps to lower the probability of you spreading it to others?
I see no truth to the claim that wearing masks prevents Covid or any other kind of virus or flu. Others see it as I do. Including John MacArthur - the famous conservative pastor I listen to often in evenings. He says Coronovirus is very rare compared to other viruses and flu that goes around. And also that Covid has extremely small death figures. He's looked at the proof at it in government papers.

hey post, would you also apply thought process this if the gov. mandated a vaccine?
A mandate is not a suggestion, but yes, its gives me the creeps to think about what might be in that needle. Hope and pray that I will taken up before those things start to transpire.

Paul would similarly advise us in the Body of Christ, to wear masks, for the sake of your neighbors.
Paul would tell you that if you really wish to protect your neighbor get an N95 mask.

Has anyone here had any luck going into stores, wearing a '"breathable mask?" Without being stopped by some "Hitler" (type, I mean) brainwashed person? I find some stores are less strict than others, and am glad for that. I have allergies, and it is hard to breathe with the typical masks used. My husband does the shopping most of the time. And I buy any additional things just online, usually. But sometimes, I'd like to go into a store to point out to my husband what I want. I recently made a lace mask. That is a lot easier to breathe through. But even that is a bit difficult for me to breathe with. So will use it as little as is possible. And will continue to pray that the absurd mask laws are done away with as soon as is possible!
Sadly, it is here to stay for the foreseeable future. The devil has deviced the most cunning plan to get even religious people to believe the lie and false science being promoted to get people to fear. If people would have understanding where disease come from there will be no fear in society.

pity the poor (and well off) people in the US as they are so used to their govt lying to them they now cannot trust a word they say even if its true, even if its staring them right in the face.

I would just say in that case, use your discernment.

Did you know that Moses initially had to wear a veil when he talked to God. God was so bright, that nobody had ever spoken to him face to face and lived, they couldnt handle Gods glory.

Sure, Satan controls human cell walls, the human cell, the proteins in the cell, the RNA of the virus, people's antibodies, micro organisms, every doctor,

virologist, epidemiologist, scientist, front line worker etc., and the people who are sick are not really sick.

And no one has really died either.

And Christianity slowly looses credibility by the moment by default.

I am the only person in my Sunday School class that wears a mask. There are about twenty of us. I do not understand them, but it's not worth rocking the boat over imho.
