Hi everyone, whose your favourite bible character? All the characters in the bible were people just like us in every way and the bible doesn't sugar coat their lives. We see their struggles, failures, weaknesses, prayers, blessings
longevities...the list goes on.Plus we also see how God deals with individuals/nations etc and I am sure we can relate to many of their lives too.
One of my favourite characters is Joseph.A young man betrayed by his brothers for the dream he shared and he went through many valleys yet God still prospered him and elevated him to such a high position and Joseph blessed his own family and others.Such a blessed young man who though ill treated and betrayed and even tempted by potiphers wife he was still blessed by God and overcame.
There are many others of course...I just choose one.
So whose your favourite bible character or even favourite bible story because each bible character is seen within the context of a biblical event/story.?Also why are they your favourite...is it because they inspire you or that you can relate to their life experiences.?Love to hear from you.😊😊

I like Sarah, she and Abraham praised the Lord and trusted in the Lord for everything. So much so that they had that timeless Holy Spirit of beauty and health in them, and God rewarded their faith greatly:love:(y)

Awww yes Sarah and abraham...its amazing to think she had a child at that age coz medically these days it would be deemed impossible by doctors...but God is the chief gynocologist for sure..They had their ups and downs in waiting for Gods promise to be forfilled at times..yet God promise to them came true regardless.Leaving there lives behind and choosing to follow God takes faith..and they definitely has that...🙏🏻
Great to read your comments..😊😊

David.. For his Faith..

He was a very faulty human being.. But when it came to repenting before the LORD he did not hesitate to humble himself and acknowledge His sins..

Hi Avatar thank you for checking out this thread.David was most definitely a man with flaws which makes him relatable for many of us coz we do have them..and its not always about the sin thats committed as itz also to do with our response to our own sin.God gives grace to the humble yet opposed the proud.Much appreciate you being here..👍👍

I was thinking more along the lines of his hair. If it was cut, he would lose his strength.

Thank you for your kind words, by the way. I appreciate that. :)

Ok cool..I get you now..👍👍
..yes that area of vulnerability.... to know that God gave him the responsibility to never allow his hair to be cut...he was cool with this until due to deliah constant nagging he eventually gave in.
I appreciate you appreciation..😊😊😊

Oh my goodness she most definitely WAS.🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️🤦🏼‍♂️..What a woman the king allowed to basically run the show..She most certainly ain't my favourite...but in terms of being a real standout character she's most definitely up there for sure.👍👍

Job has always been mine. I feel in some ways I've been through a lot like him. I like the story because it feels real. It's not all wonderful and peachy keen. His life is a mess, but in the end of it all God rewards him. I have had those arguments with God and He's had to put me in my place. Really. Who am I but a man,and only He knows who I am. He's the Creator. He's merciful and loving but He also is real with me which isn't fun all the time but it's what I need. My second favorite person in the Bible is Mary Magdalene. I feel like she doesn't get enough credit, and maybe that's due to the culture and handling be of the text by men. Anyways, I just find her a cert strong and inspirational woman and a great example of someone who realized how incredibly lost she was until she met Jesus.

Daniel is one of my favorite characters. He was taken to Babylon where he had many opportunities to compromise, but he always remained loyal and faithful to God.

David all the way, I have always called the book of psalms the book of encouragement and I love the relationship he had with God and have always felt like a kindred spirit with him

Like him my most intimate and profound way to speak with him is in writing I can fully express myself when I write my hearts deepest thoughts feelings and desires this is why I love to write poems and God has used them to an amazing extent for others which I am so thankful for

Moses. I love how God was able to speak plainly to him, and said he was a very humble man. Yet he had faults like normal people - ran away from Pharaoh, wanted God to send someone else, had to be rescued from God by his wife... And like someone else posted elsewhere today, God preserved his strength and sight to the day of his death.

Hi yes Job is one of those characters that many Christians I have met over the years have a special connection with. There's just so much within the events in his life that reveals so much about God,the devil and lots more.So I am not surprised this character is one if your favourites..👍👍
Mary Magdalene is definitely someone who indeed doesn't get sufficient credit..I guess the bible just has so so many individuals that some may get more general acknowledgement than others.
Yes women were not seen as equals in those times but jesus treated then different from the norm and women had key roles and she has a unique experience of jesus which is definitely relatable to so many

Hi Godcares yes Daniel was a great character and displayed Godly courage indeed.Even to the point of being killed.
Great example of not having the fear of man..but instead having "the fear of God!"💪
The thins of God are indeed eternal and go way beyond our capacity to grasp..
Nice one.👍👍😊

there are many that we Love in both the OT and the NT -
it's really not possible for either one of us to love
one above another, mostly because that God used
each of them to teach us all, by using their precious,
individual, personalities molded by His hands -
it's just so awesome how we live and think because
of how God used them as our teachers...

Samson, the dude was like a real life super hero, so cool!

Paul is also a character I really like as I've done a lot of dumb things in life as Saul/Paul did, but the way he did a complete 180 with his life just really inspires me to do the same
