Flock , Fold , Sheep , Shepherd, = always ISRAEL . You will not find these terms outside of a Jewish context. This is western ' me ' centered thinking being forced into the text .
Someone forgot that there is no distinction between Jew and Gentile.

So did Jesus stop being a shepherd or is there still a distinction?

Jesus is a shepherd to Jewish believers and not to gentile believers (creating a division)? Or Jesus is not a shepherd anymore?

Which is it?

So Jesus is right now a shepherd of Jewish believers but not a shepherd of gentile believers? You just reinserted a division between Jew and Gentile that Paul said was removed.

The distinction is in the body .

The Church is not even a thing when Jesus is talking about ' sheep ' . The body of Jew / gentile is A MYSTERY revealed to Paul .

1 peter is to Jews .
Jewish Christians who are part of the church. so you still have an unbiblical division between saved Jews and saved Gentiles, inasmuch as you say Jesus shepherds and keeps one group but not the other.

So you hold that Christ is the shepherd of one group of believers and not of another. I could agree with you, but I’d be wrong.
Your losing sight of Jesus usage of the term Sheep and the context he's using in the old testament.

Them also must I bring. (Future)

They shall hear my voice. ( future)

They shall be one flock. ( future).

How many flocks does Jesus have?
One, for there is neither Jew nor Greek in Christ Jesus.

Jesus was purposed from before the foundation of the world
to be a blessing to all nations, as promised to Abraham.

Jesus knew about it when He spoke in John 10:16.
Shall we just do that to all verses . " God knew about it ...so erm we can just assume anything about the text, after all no one can argue that God doesn't know anything "

Can we agree that Jesus said He was only sent to the lost sheep of the House of Israel? We can believe what we want . But either he meant what he said or he was lying .

Your jumping around all over the place. Let's stick to the old testament where Jesus said he only Came to the lost sheep of the house of ISRAEL that was his primary mission . TO ISRAEL . We come in because of their rejection. We come in many years later ( 10 years ) After Acts 2 . There is no Gentile sheep . We were ' dogs ' not sheep .

So is Jesus a shepherd of Jewish believers and not of Gentile believers? I thought there was no difference in the church.
The Church yes . But the Church is not spoken of when Jesus says :
But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
This is sounding like the Adoption discussion. It doesn't matter to you that we have a clear verse telling us what the Adoption IS ,( Rom 8.23 )
And it seems like it doesn't matter that we have a verse telling us who Jesus was sent to ,and who is sheep are .

Jesus was speaking of bringing in sheep in future tense, not past or present

Jesus is shepherd right now.

Jesus is not shepherd of some Christians and not shepherd of others.

The church is one body with one Chiefshepherd.
