Hollywood Takes on Predestination v. Free Will

Tuesday night I was scrolling through the Menu on my TV to see what was available to watch. There was a Movie titled The Adjustment Bureau on one of the channels. Matt Damon and Emily Blunt were the Stars. I checked the "Info" to get an idea of what it was about, but there wasn't much information. I recorded it anyway, and thought I would watch it. I always record the Shows I want to watch so I can fast forward through the Commercials (so many now have gay/lesbian situations), and any inappropriate scenes in the Show/Program I do not wish to view.

Last night I sat down to watch it, and about 30 minutes into the movie, it suddenly hit me that the actual point of the movie was the discussion of Predestination versus Free Will! I busted out laughing thinking of Hollywood taking on this issue. I have to say that all in all the movie was pretty good. 1 to 10, I give it a 7. I like the actors, and was very interested in how Hollywood would resolve the debate between the two views.

I will not give away the ending, but I was surprised by it. I am also NOT SAYING the movie is Biblical Truth, or even follows Scripture. Just saying that it was entertaining. I also do not remember any nudity or cursing. That is an unusual thing these days. There may have been a curse word or two, but I do not remember hearing them.

I would recommend people watch it if they have not. You may be as surprised by the ending as I was.

I recall this movie. It was pretty good. Based off a novel by Phillip K Dick, a prolific sci-fi author.

I think Hollywood handles a lot of deeper subjects, but it's often times not painted to be so obvious. While not a big superhero fan, I found Aquaman and the old 90s era Batman to be quite relatable on the subject of internal struggle. Batman was about a man that believed in doing right, and struggled against a darkness inside that wanted him to do wrong. And the immense conflict that took place inside him over it.
Aquaman was about someone split between two worlds. One trying to force him, even to the point of death, to return where he belonged. And one where he was born, yet still an outsider whose only real love and commitment was to his father.
Obviously those are broad stroke descriptions. And neither Christian based, but there can be deeper ideas and messages in unexpected places.

huh never thought Hollywood would have much to say about this as some movies are so predictable!

Although there are quirky ones like Groundhog day.
Or what about Sliding Doors.

I think hollywood now would have the technology for people to choose their own ending in movies, because they film so much different endings for some movies that you could probably take control of the story by your remote and choose which way you want the main character to go.
