Be careful that passion doesn't bring you down!!!

  • “And, behold, there a woman met him, with the dress of a harlot and a guarded heart.” (Proverbs 7:10);
  • “Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. *For she has cast down many wounded; yea, many strong men have been slain by her*.” (Proverbs 7:25,26).

When the woman is in the presence of the Creator, she is a marvelous blessing in the life of the man:

  • “Whoever finds a wife finds good and gets favor from Jehovah.” (Proverbs 18:22).
  • “Who can find a woman of virtue? For her value is far above rubies. The heart of her husband trusts safely in her, so that he shall have no need of plunder. She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.” (Proverbs 31:10-12).
  • “A wise woman builds her house...” (Proverbs 14.1).

In counterpart, when she go astray from the way of the Creator:

  • “... but the foolish plucks it down with her hands.” (Proverbs 14.1).

Hence the mother of the king Lemuel advising Him:

  • “Do not give your strength to women, nor your ways to that which destroys kings.” (Proverbs 31:3).

And we can see examples in the Holy Scripture of women that misled a man and caused many predicaments:

1 – Jezebel:

  • “But there was none like Ahab, who sold himself to work wickedness in the sight of Jehovah, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.” (1Ki 21:25).

2 – The daughter of Herodias:

  • “And a convenient day came, when Herod made a supper to great men on his birthday, and to the chiliarchs, and to the first ones of Galilee. And when the daughter of Herodias herself came in and danced and pleased Herod, and those who reclined with him, the king said to the girl, Ask me whatever you desire from me, and I will give it to you. And he swore to her, Whatever you shall ask from me, I will give it to you, to the half of my kingdom. And she went out and said to her mother, What shall I ask? And she said, The head of John the Baptist.” (Mark 6:21-24).

3 – Eve:

  • “And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.” (1Tim 2:14).

4 – Delilah:

  • “And when Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, Come this once, for he has showed me all his heart. Then the lords of the Philistines came up to her, and brought silver in their hand. And she made him sleep upon her knees. And she called for a man, and she caused him to shave off the seven locks of his head. And she began to afflict him, and his strength went from him.” (Jdg 16:19).

And we can't forget that, when Solomon was old, his wives turned away his heart after other gods (1Kings 11:4)

So, to the girl I counsel to fill her mind with the ken of the Creator, so that she can be:

  • like a fruitful vine by the sides of her house (Psalms 128:3);
  • like corner-stones, polished like a palace building (Psalms 144:12).

To the boy I recommend to bide the Creator to prepare his future wife and bring her to him at the right moment.

Until then, both ought to concern about how to please the Creator and be holy (1Cor 7:32,34).

Have a good day pondering on this.
