Was the crucifixion that Jesus endured the worst possible suffering a human could experience?

when he was flogged 39 times it must have been painful, plus having to drag a cross through the streets of Jerusalem in front of everyone. Then he was mocked by the crowds that came to gawk him. his followers had deserted him, he was betrayed.

I mean back in those days they didnt have social media this was how people got crucified...publically humiliated.

and he had done nothing wrong. He was healing people and telling the truth.

I dont know anyone before Jesus who went through that. Job surely suffered but it wasnt really the same kind that Jesus went through. Jesus gave his life for us. even a criminal got off scot free (barabbas) but Jesus took that punishment, on our behalf, willingly.

Love is not a choice.
If something is done out of obligation, or fear, or if it is forced, then it is not done out of love. Would you agree with that?

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
3:17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

You may find it hard to believe that this pertains to you and I personally, but the wonderful truth is that it does!:). Your soul and my soul is precious to Him. He wants to come inside our hearts and stay and be with us every day! It is wonderful and it is true!:)

Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.

Luke 19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for to day I must abide at thy house.

We can put my name or your name in there...

19:5 And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw her, and said unto her, Vicky, make haste, and come down; for to day I would like to abide at thy house.:)

He loves you and wants to be with you every day and hereafter on out through eternity.

Yes, I agree Jesus Christ gave His life for us and sooooo much more than any other human.

NO HUMAN rose from the dead with the keys to Death and Hell in His hands, except Jesus Christ ALONE.

NO HUMAN blood was able to atone for the sins of the whole world.......Jesus Christ suffered MORE than any other human.

However, those humans that reject Jesus Christ will suffer more than Him because their unbelieving heart is an added sin that they will have to suffer.....

Can I ask when HE was forsaken? Where in the bible does it say that?
Matthew 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Mark 15:34 And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, Eloi, Eloi, lama sabachthani? which is, being interpreted, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

.
There were three hours of inky darkness during Christ's crucifixion. What do
you suppose went on in there? Well; I'll tell you what went on. God brutally
thrashed the stuffings out of His own son.

Isa 52:14-15 . . there were many who were appalled at him-- his
appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred
beyond human likeness --thus will he sprinkle many nations

Isa 53:10 . . It pleased Jehovah to bruise him; He hath put him to grief

The Romans whipped Christ to within an inch of his life, slapped him around,
crowned him with thorns, and drove nails into his palms and his feet. But
that was child's play compared to what God did. By the time those hours of
darkness lifted; Christ's own mother would have trouble recognizing him.

If God would do that kind of damage to His own son, think what He must
have in store for mockers, critics, and scorners. Well . . their punishment
isn't all that hard to guess is it? Fair's fair. At the very least, they will be
beaten and bloodied beyond recognition, same as he was.

Yes but that was a quote from Pslams 22 verse 1. If God forsaken Jesus on the Christ can you explain why before Jesus gave of the Spirit he said "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost. " Luke 23:46?

why would He say you forsook me yet I am going to you?

Why was God punishing himself?

Well surely humans will endure eternal suffering, surely by definition that suffering would be worse than what God endured?
When God created humans He wanted them to live with Him forever. God cannot live with sin, when humans brought sin into the world it meant death for us. As humans, we cannot know or understand all of this---we are only dimly aware of what heaven is like and what it is like to die as an unsaved person.

1 Peter 3:18-20 explains: “For Christ also died for sins once for all, the just for the unjust, in order that He might bring us to God, having been put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit; 19 in which also He went and made proclamation to the spirits now in prison, 20 who once were disobedient, when the patience of God kept waiting in the days of Noah, during the construction of the ark, in which a few, that is, eight persons, were brought safely through the water.”

What Christ did those three days is done in the world that God lives in, we can only know of it darkly. Christ paid for all our sins, a humongous task.

God cannot live with sin

Of course he can and has since sin began. The greatest sinner of them all was often in heaven as seen in Job and Revelation. He is only kicked out of heaven after losing a war. Before that' satan could enter heaven where God lives whenever he wanted to.

Well, The God of the bible demands blood for sin.
Why?

Is that ever explained in the Bible? It says about animals that their life is in the blood, so maybe it has something to do with that?

Sin separates us from God.

Psalm 66:18-19 If I had cherished iniquity in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. But truly God has listened; he has attended to the voice of my prayer.

Isaiah 59:2 But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden his face from you so that he does not hear.

1 Peter 3:12 The eyes of the Lord watch over those who do right, and his ears are open to their prayers. But the Lord turns his face against those who do evil.

John 9:31 We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will.

Mar_2:15 And it came to pass, that, as Jesus sat at meat in his house, many publicans and sinners sat also together with Jesus and his disciples: for there were many, and they followed him.

God is holy and He demands punishment for those who offend Him. Adam and Eve sinned against who? God. He had to take skins from something alive to cover their shame or nakedness. In Hebrew Skins found in Genesis 3:21 is hide from an animal.

God requires something to die for sin. God is also merciful and long-suffering. It was God who took the skins for Adam and Eve and He covered them, and it was God through Jesus who took our sins unto Himself and removed our forever. If Jesus did not do that we would be lost.

Jesus became sin at the cross, that was when he bore God's wrath and judgement for sin, which includes being forsaken.

After he endure all that at the cross, he was still alive, which indicated to us that, the sacrifice was greater than the judgement.

Thus when he said Father after that, he is telling us that he is restored to perfect fellowship with God the Father once again. The judgement for Adam's sin has been dealt with (Romans 5:12-19)

Jesus took on the punishment for sin,

2cor 5:21

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Jesus never sinned But God placed on HIm NOT IN HIM, Jesus did not sin nor did HE know Sin HE suffered for others, not HIMSLF.

Jesus did not change to sin , or become a sinner,

His death was for you and me. Jesus was quoting PS 22 because those there were asking for a sign yelling at HIM to come down and they would believe. God did not forsake Jesus. In the Psalms when one would read the first part which would cause the assembly to respond with the remaining Psalm.

When Jesus said "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?
the response would be:

why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

look at the remeaning verses from PS 22 and read the gospel crucifixion account.

O My God, I cry in the daytime, but You do not hear;
And in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But You are holy,
Enthroned in the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You;
They trusted, and You delivered them.
5 They cried to You, and were delivered;
They trusted in You, and were not ashamed.

6 But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised by the people.
7 All those who see Me ridicule Me;
They shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
8 “He trusted in the LORD, let Him rescue Him;
Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him!”

9 But You are He who took Me out of the womb;
You made Me trust while on My mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon You from birth.
From My mother’s womb
You have been My God.
11 Be not far from Me,
For trouble is near;
For there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have surrounded Me;
Strong bulls of Bashan have encircled Me.
13 They gape at Me with their mouths,
Like a raging and roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water,
And all My bones are out of joint;
My heart is like wax;
It has melted within Me.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd,
And My tongue clings to My jaws;
You have brought Me to the dust of death.

16 For dogs have surrounded Me;
The congregation of the wicked has enclosed Me.
They pierced My hands and My feet;
17 I can count all My bones.
They look and stare at Me.

18 They divide My garments among them,
And for My clothing they cast lots.

19 But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!
20 Deliver Me from the sword,
My precious life from the power of the dog.
21 Save Me from the lion’s mouth
And from the horns of the wild oxen!

You have answered Me.

22 I will declare Your name to My brethren;
In the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 You who fear the LORD, praise Him!
All you descendants of Jacob, glorify Him,
And fear Him, all you offspring of Israel!
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.

25 My praise shall be of You in the great assembly;
I will pay My vows before those who fear Him.
26 The poor shall eat and be satisfied;
Those who seek Him will praise the LORD.
Let your heart live forever!

27 All the ends of the world
Shall remember and turn to the LORD,
And all the families of the nations
Shall worship before You.
28 For the kingdom is the LORD’s,
And He rules over the nations.

29 All the prosperous of the earth
Shall eat and worship;
All those who go down to the dust
Shall bow before Him,
Even he who cannot keep himself alive.

30 A posterity shall serve Him.
It will be recounted of the Lord to the next generation,
31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born,
That He has done this.

God did not forsake Jesus. And Jesus said

And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit: and having said thus, he gave up the ghost.

Psalms 22 says

19 But You, O LORD, do not be far from Me;
O My Strength, hasten to help Me!

21 You have answered Me.

24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted;
Nor has He hidden His face from Him;
But when He cried to Him, He heard.
