The arrival of Christ for the second time accomplishes many things including the vials of wrath and destroying the army of the beast at Armageddon as well as resulting in the beast and false prophet being cast into the LOF. There is one more thing mentioned during the second coming that many do not notice which is the future rule over the nations which proves there are unsaved mortals that are set aside for being ruled over by the rod of iron:

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite (Aorist tense verb with PRESENT tense meaning) the nations: and he shall rule (FUTURE tense verb) them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth (PRESENT tense verb) the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

Here rule/poimaino is in the FUTURE tense meaning it will happen at some point AFTER the second coming and battle of Armageddon while treadeth/pateo is written in the PRESENT tense meaning it is happening during this second coming. The treading and smiting are happening at Armageddon but not the ruling which proves mortals will be alive after Armageddon is over. This proves the Premill position because indeed there is a future rule of people who were not slain during the second coming that Christ and his saints will rule over.

A second witness to this:

Rev 2:25 But that which ye have already hold fast till I come.

That is the second coming. Everything we read of next comes after the second coming:

Rev 2:26 And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations:

After "the end" comes, there is given power over the nations to those that are overcomers which naturally includes those who "are alive and remain" at the second coming. They will be given power over the mortal unsaved nations after Christ has returned not before it.

Rev 2:27 And he shall rule/U] (FUTURE tense verb) them with a rod of iron[; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.

After the second coming and after "the end" will the overcomers be given power over the nations, ruling them with a rod of iron. That proves the rod of iron rule over the nations for a thousand years does not even start until Christ has returned and has given overcomers this power to rule over the nations.

It is impossible to understand what happens at the second coming and what happens AFTER the second coming properly without understanding the verb tenses involved.

Since scripture does not contradict itself, there are no scriptures which state all mortals are slain at the second coming leaving none to be ruled over.

***************************

Verb tenses are very important and should never be ignored. If I said, "I'm at the store buying (present tense verb) the ingredients for Spaghetti so I can cook (future tense verb) Spaghetti for you." No one should think I was cooking Spaghetti in the store. Clearly the buying is at a different time than the cooking. It's the same with the events of Revelation 19. There are verbs there in the present tense regarding smiting and treading which are violent actions and they take place during that battle. There is another event mentioned there about ruling over people but it is written in the future tense proving it happens AFTER the violent events. The ruling is not happening during the violent events of the second coming and the battle of Armageddon. Furthermore the Greek word for "rule" means to take care as a Shepherd would so the rule is peaceful which makes sense. There is a battle and a lot of killing, then non-military/civilian survivors are cared for in a Shepherding sense. That happened in wars the United States were in where after WW2 was over, we actually helped Germany and Japan rebuild.

Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule (G4165 poimainō) them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.

shall rule: poimanei (ποιμανεῖ) - verb tense: future indicative active

If the verb was in the present tense it would be spelled differently:

Joh 21:16 He saith to him again the second time, Simon, son of Jonas, lovest thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love thee. He saith unto him, Feed (G4165 poimainō) my sheep.

Feed: poimaine (Ποίμαινε) - verb tense: present imperative active

So, when it is future tense it is spelled poimanei (ποιμανεῖ) and when it is present tense it is spelled poimaine (Ποίμαινε).

This info came from the Strong's concordance and the interlinear at biblehub.com

2Th 1:7 And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
2Th 1:8 In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

This verb is in the present tense and so this “taking vengeance” happens during the second coming.

2Th 1:9 Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

“shall be punished” is in the FUTURE TENSE which means that the everlasting destruction ie: GWTJ/LOF is NOT happening at the second coming but is a FUTURE event after the second coming just as Premill teaches and exactly opposite of what Amill teaches.

https://biblehub.com/interlinear/2_thessalonians/1-9.htm

You can verify in the link above that the verb tisousin is in the future tense: verb tense: future indicative active.

None of the wicked will enter into the millennial kingdom, as they will all be killed by that double-edged sword that proceeds from the Lord's mouth and their flesh will eaten by the birds. Those 'nations' whom Jesus and we will rule over, will be those saints who will have come out of the great tribulation period alive, i.e. still in their mortal bodies and who will repopulate the earth. It is these who we will rule over with a rod of iron, which means to act as a shepherd. In opposition, the wicked, i.e. those who continued to reject Christ and worshiped the beast, his image and received his mark who make it through God's wrath alive, will be gathered by the angels (Matt.13:40-42, 24:31) and will be brought there to be killed. None of the wicked will enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. Regarding 'ruling with a rod of iron'

"As the weeds are pulled up and burned in the fire, so it will be at the end of the age. The Son of Man will send out his angels, and they will weed out of his kingdom everything that causes sin and all who do evil. They will throw them into the blazing furnace, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

So, it is the great tribulation saints from every nation whom the Lord and we with Him, who will rule over them, i.e. shepherding them. As for the rest, their fate is listed below:

=========================================================================

Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out in a loud voice to all the birds flying overhead, “Come, gather together for the great supper of God, 18so that you may eat the flesh of kings and commanders and mighty men, of horses and riders, of everyone slave and free, small and great.”

19Then I saw the beast and the kings of the earth with their armies assembled to wage war against the One seated on the horse, and against His army. 20But the beast was captured along with the false prophet, who on its behalf had performed signs deceiving those who had the mark of the beast and worshiped its image. Both the beast and the false prophet were thrown alive into the fiery lake of burning sulfur. 21And the rest were killed with the sword that proceeded from the mouth of the One seated on the horse.

And all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

=======================================================================

'The rest' of verse 21, would be everyone slave and free, small and great of the wicked found in verse 18. Not one of them will enter into the thousand year reign of Christ. Only the remnant of Israel and the great tribulation saints from all nations will enter into the millennial kingdom. The rest will be killed and the birds will gorge themselves on their dead bodies.

It is unfortunate to say the least, that after a thousand years of having no temptation or deception from Satan, that when he is released from the Abyss many will be deceived and will rebel against God by going up and surrounding Jerusalem, where they will be killed by fire from the Lord out of heaven.

Agreed! It will be the remnant of Israel and the great tribulation satins who will enter into the millennial kingdom in their mortal bodies and repopulate the earth. As I was telling ewq1938, none of the wicked, those who will have continued to reject Christ and who will have worshiped the beast, his image and received his mark, will not be allowed to enter into the millennial kingdom, but will all be killed by that double-edged sword which will proceed from the mouth of the Lord, with their bodies being eaten by the birds that the angel will have gathered in Rev.19:17-18

I am no expert on these verses but at this particular time I am leaning toward an interpretation of the Ruling with the rod of iron and the smashing them as a potters vessel is when the raptured saints in heaven are seated on thrones and partaking some how in the releasing of the judgments upon the earth.

It seems that they are engaged in the act of each seal, trumpet, bowl etc being released because they say "come and see" or "Go" each time. This is symbolic of them being allowed to release them upon the earth. It is as if the Father hands the scroll to the Lamb who opens the seals and then hands it off to the saints to say GO or Come. each time. (The 24 elders and the 4 faced living creatures are named as those who say this "Come" or "Go" each time and they have already said that they were redeemed by the blood from every nation, tribe, tongue so we know that is who they are) And then the judgment is poured out.

These nations are being dashed to pieces like a potters vessel at that time. During the tribulation.

The 1000 year reign of peace would not be very peaceful if we were dashing nations with a rod of iron and smashing them like potters vessels would it? That has already been done when the 1000 year reign begins.

So then we rule also during the 1000 years, and maybe there is an application of smashing them as potters vessels when they rebel after satan is released but then it is the second act of a play with a 1000 year intermission.

Jesus Christ dissolves the heavens and earth by firey judgement at his second coming,the end

Perhaps you can help me find the things claimed by those teaching a Literal 1,000 year Millennial Kingdom On This Earth in Revelation 20:1-6 below?

1.) Physical Earthly Kingdom?
2.) Physical Earthly Throne?
3.) Physical Mortal Humans?

The Above Claims (Don't Exist), A 1,000 Year Millennial Kingdom On This Earth, Is A Man Made Fairy Tale (Fact)

Revelation 20:1-6 Is 100% In The Lords (Spiritual) Angel, Heaven, Devil, Satan, The Souls, The Dead, God, Christ?

100% Spiritual Realm, No "Literal" Time (Fact)

2 Peter 3:8KJV
8 But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Revelation 20:1-6KJV
1 And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand.
2 And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years,
3 And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.
4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.

There is evidence all over the world that mountains did melt like wax, past tense, done. There are Cathedrals, Castles, & marvelous construction, all over the world with no feasible, believable, explanation or documentation of when, or how, they were built. Entire cities buried in mud up to 30 ft. thick. Just do a mudflood search for proof!
Yahshua told many, that some would not taste death until they seen him coming in the clouds in all his glory. Was he a liar?
He also said to them, this generation, shall not pass before all these things are fulfilled. Did he lie to them?
He also said the ones who pierced him would see his return. Again, was he lying? John said many times, The time is NOW, Was he lying also? In 70AD the temple was destroyed, less than 1 generation had passed. In 125AD til 135AD 2 massive earthquakes took over 1/2 a million lives. Is it possible, that Christ has returned, as he said he would, & Destroyed the entire Roman Empire, & the mountains did melt like wax? Is it possible that the Dark ages were a cover up for his 1000 yr. reign & our timeline was changed, when the Gregorian calendar was introduced. Don't just automatically refute these things with your dogmatic understanding. Open your eyes, lift the veil of deception, & search, pray, diligently seek & rightfully divide, then you will begin to see the truth. Satan has been loosed, & is deceiving the nations. May Yahuah have mercy on us all!

Yahshua told many, that some would not taste death until they seen him coming in the clouds in all his glory. Was he a liar?
No, Jesus was not a liar. First of all, the scripture does not say "that some would not taste death until they seen him coming in the clouds in all his glory." That last part is an assumption. Below is what is actually said in Matthew, Mark and Luke:

Mark 9:1 - before they see 'the kingdom of God arrive with power'

Matthew 16:28 - before the see 'the Son of Man coming in His kingdom.'

Luke 9:27 - before they see 'the kingdom of God.'

Below is the scripture:

===============================================

"But I tell you truthfully, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the kingdom of God.”

"About eight days after Jesus had said these things, He took with Him Peter, John, and James, and went up on a mountain to pray. And as He was praying, the appearance of His face changed, and His clothes became radiantly white.

===============================================

The 'some' who were standing there, are identified as Peter, John and James.

The reference to them seeing the Son of Man coming in His kingdom is not referring to the Lord's second coming, but is in reference to a week later when they saw the Lord transfigured into His glorified state on the mount, the Son of Man coming in His glory

Those standing there who would not taste of death = Peter, John and James

The Son of Man coming in His kingdom = Jesus being transfigured into His glorified state on the mount a week later

An example of 'the kingdom of God' not referring to the Lord's second coming can also be found in the following scripture:

""And if I drive out demons by Beelzebub, by whom do your sons drive them out? So then, they will be your judges. But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you." - Matt.12:27-28

As yo can see, the Lord's reference to 'the kingdom of God' was not referring to the Lord's return to end the age, but His casting out demons by the power of God.

He also said to them, this generation, shall not pass before all these things are fulfilled. Did he lie to them?
Both of these that you have quoted are well known false teachings, which I have debated many times before.

"Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have happened."

The generation that Jesus is speaking about, is directly linked to all of those events that He mentions in Matt.24. If I was to paraphrase the verse it would go something like this:

"Truly I tell you, the generation where all of these events take place, will not pass away until all these things have happened."

Since the Lord is speaking about His return to the earth to end the age, then we would also have to include the events of the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments which take place prior to the Lord's return.

That said, none of those events that Jesus mentions have yet taken place. For example, the setting up of the abomination that the Lord cites in Matt.24:15 which is one of the events, has yet to take place.

Therefore, 'this generation' that Jesus was speaking of that would not pass away until all those things were fulfilled, was not speaking about the generation that He was living in, but is speaking about the generation where all of those events begin to take place, which would include all of the events written in Revelation from chapter 4 on-ward.

He also said the ones who pierced him would see his return. Again, was he lying?
No, he's not lying. However there are two possibilities here: He could have been referring to their Jewish ancestors of Israel, or He could have been referring to those who actually had Him pieced who would be allowed to see Him from Hades when He returns to the earth. In any case, those end-time events have yet to take place and the Lord certainly has not yet returned to end the age and establish His millennial kingdom.

Those events that you mention, will be nothing in comparison to what the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments are going to do to the earth and its inhabitants. It will be the worst time in the history of the world and will take place within a seven year period. By the time the Lord returns to the earth to end the age, the majority of the earths population will have been decimated and all human government will have been dismantled.

People err in this, because they do not understand the severity and magnitude of God's coming wrath via the seals, trumpets and bowl judgments, as well as the plagues the two witnesses will bring. All that said, the first seal has yet to be opened, which is symbolically represented by that 1st seal rider on the white horse.

To borrow from the words of Bachman Turner Overdrive: You ain't seen nothing yet!
