How do you hear from God?

Explain how do you personally hear from God.

In his word. The spirit reminding my mind of his word, because I put his word from which he speaks into my soul.

Guide, speak, show, dreams, visions, words of knowledge, etc.

Jesus modeled how we are each to live, the gift was the gift of the Holy Spirit in all it's permutations, every gift Jesus manifested is available to every believer. He will grow us each as much as we want to grow.

He speaks to me through scripture, through the Holy Spirit, answers to prayers, the giving of wisdom, through other believers, and very rarely intervenes within me almost as if I feel like I was in 3rd person and God would speak to me through the Spirit. They typically are more spiritual. Very real but also feels very unreal due to as soon as it is over, the enemy quickly tries to suppress it. The best way I can explain it.

That is so true how the adversary is there to attempt to take it away.

Thru God's word. This we get thru reading the Bible, listening to preachers and teachers, even hearing Scripture songs. Sometimes i am reading a portion of Scripture and feel moved to share what has touched or spoken to me.. and sometimes i am still surprised it is exactly what God was wanting me to share w/ another person or (usually) small group at that time.

Some may disregard or not think that God will use psalms, hymns and sacred songs to speak and admonish us, but He does. And that is why we're commanded to speak and to teach one another thru such. Imagine being worried or angry at some point, and instead of panicking or going in a rage we sing "Trust in the Lord with all of your heart," "Do not worry abt tomorrow..." or just "Fathers, provoke not your children to wrath..." (the latter because we may often be angry, thus we provoke our children..), we might as well sing whether in our minds or aloud=)..

All the above, But I find I most hear God when I go quiet and keep still.

For example, that sometimes happens when Im having a bath. Or Im going out for a walk by myself and my mind is focused on Him. Or in the mornings when Im reading the Bible and nobody else is up yet. Or even at night when Im lying in bed. Often when Im gardening.

in meetings it can happen when everyone is quiet, which is why I like going to quaker meetings.
I get the sense of His presence. Sometimes I just get flashes of inspiration and know thats God working in me.

Sure I can hear from God in noisy church gatherings as well, but thats kinda more like Hes speaking to everyone as a group, not one on one. I feel like Hes made more time for me when its just me lol.

when it's a still, soft, quietly spoken, even lower than a whisper voice, and gentle, VERY gentle.
Usually it feels like it's near my tummy, but sounds like it's in my head- a sound very different from my own thoughts,

By expecting Him and being open to hearing or seeing Him do something in or with a situation, and not just hoping.

The Bible.

I hear God in many ways. Sometimes it's an "Ah-ha" moment, when I say, Okay God I hear you, I get it now. Sometimes it's in my quiet time in prayer when I hear and feel Him comforting me. Sometimes it's in the way someone else says something, like a pastor or a close friend...or even a child. Usually, I hear Him when I read the Bible though.

We will be hearing the Voice of God in different ways.

Through His Word - when we read bible, suddenly that particular word opened our eyes and we think someone speaking through this word, not every word.

Through Holy sprit

Through Christian Messages.

Through His little audioable voice - sheep knows Voice of Shepherd.

Through - Vision - when we pray, our spritual eyes are opened and see the vision and hear voice of God.

Through His Prophets - when we talk or conversation or go to pray for prayer request. ( only Real prophet )

Through Hear the Songs - when we hear songs... We knows some words touching our hearts.

Etc....

The other night I had a dream. In my dream I was at a church service when someone made an overtly political comment. I challenged the speaker on his views, the service immediately deteriorated and I was removed. Then I woke.

I have been convicted by this dream; spending too much time and concern with national politics (the ways of man), to the neglect of my spiritual responsibilities (the ways of God). I am trying to change.

I'm not a "hokus-pokus" person but I have had several dreams that have changed me, always in a positive direction.

Thank you seeker, this has been brought up for me as well as a type of idolatry, placing the cares of the world ahead of Him.
You are another witness to me of this.
