Hi, I’m new here. A fight within me has started since I accepted Jesus as my savior and a new kind of unexplainable change has come to me, that’s incredible and wonderful you know, but I notice that the devil just wants me back in my addiction and he tries with ways that are really seducing. Some of you in a similar position maybe? It’s a real fight.

First off, Praise be to God for your excepting him into your heart!
Secondly, Welcome to Christian Chat!
Thirdly, yes the devil does try everything in his power to keep you under his thumb. Blessfully, God is so much stronger than anything he could ever do to try and have you back. Just keep Praying to the One that has Loved you since before you were born for his Strenght, Mercy, Grace and Protection, and He who has started His Good works in you is Faithful to finish what he has started.
Great to have you here and look forward to chatting with you!
🙂

Welcome to your new family, brother Robin.:) We are so glad you have come to us.

The Lord is kind and merciful. All He asks of us is that we do our best and let Him do the rest. All of us were born into one kind of addiction or another. We are born under the sin nature.

Romans
3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
3:25 Whom God hath set forth [to be] a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
3:26 To declare, [I say], at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.
3:27 Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith.

Do not let Satan discourage you in these things. Growth in Christ can be a slow and gradual process, but let us rejoice together that we are saved and loved by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I have been in the same predicament. I had an alcohol issue and accepted Christ. What is helping me is staying in touch with other believers, which is not easy where I come from. I am from Morocco and we have what we call "house" churches. It helps if you are involved in Church too
