Are we in the time frame known as the "beginning of birth pains" or "beginning of sorrows?" Jesus said that there would be signs that happen before the end. According to what I have researched, the very signs Jesus said to look for have increased in frequency over the past 100-200 years.
Matthew 24
5For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
10And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
My question, then, is have these signs been happening in ever-increasing frequency within the last 100-200 years?
According to my research:
-There have been at least 45 people claim to be Jesus Christ (possibly many more undocumented) within the past 200 years. (source)
-The number of wars has increased over the past 200 years. (source)
-Famine. As of November 27, 2020, 690 million people do not have enough to eat. While 130 million additional people risk being pushed to the brink of starvation according to the World Food Programme (WFP). (source)
-Plagues. Many pandemics over the centuries(source)
-Earthquakes have been increasing over the past 100 years. (source)
-Christian hatred, persecution, and martyrdom higher in the past 100 years than any time before. (source)
-Many false prophets. There are ~33,830 Christian denominations worldwide. Also, many other faiths/paths/religions/spiritualities. Are they all teaching the Bible? (source)
-Iniquity abounds, people love each other less. This may depend on the community we are in, but generally speaking, are people less loving in the present than the used to be?
