Let's see if I can get through this without identifying groups or political parties.

I cannot be friends who wish to support abortion. I cannot be friends with people that support looting and pillaging. I cannot be friends with people that continually attack President Trump, especially since they can give me no solid reason for the antipathy. I cannot be friends with people whose every waking moment is bent on destroying American culture. I cannot be friends with people that want me to give up the only means of self defense I have against home invasions.

We're not just divided on subjects like in the old days, about how much subsidy to give agriculture, or whether to raise the national speed limit. Our country is deciding communism vs capitalism. There is a full-on war against the forces of law and order that is driving thousands of well trained qualified police to seek other employment.

I'm fine with the idea. Because I have no doubt every Democrat doesn't believe in the many atrocities going on now. On both sides there are angry, violent people. And also on both sides are people against what's going on.
I don't care what side of politics someone claims, I'll judge by the individual, not by the title. And those that discard millions of other people in blanket ideals and forget that people are individuals, are not the kind of people I care to associate with, either. Because at the end of the day they are no better than those they speak against.

How fascinating. Where did her beliefs come from. You have an opportunity to improve your relationship whatever that may be. If you avoid because its uncomfortable is that going to improve your relationship. The willingness to listen to another. Rather than discount them as you disagree. Take a step back and get to know this person. Person first, political views second. It doesn't have to be a war.

If am friends with someone it's because I enjoy them and their company adds something good to my life . So I try to keep politics out of those relationships as much as possible. I have seen friendships end because either one of both parties found it more important to be "right" or true to their political.views.than to live and let live . I don't want to lose my friends.

With a boss.I agree it much harder but then you are there to work and earns not to become entangled into politics. Sometimes you have to just listen and nod politely
