Hi everyone,
About maybe 1.5 years ago,
I attended an event as a participant,
And someone’s shorts (as in clothing you wear) were left behind (I’m assuming someone may have like maybe changed clothes and forgot it behind or something along those lines).
But anyway, a coach of mine was planning on throwing it in the garbage if no one wanted to take the shorts,
So I decided to take the shorts home.

I have no idea who they belong to, but I think size of the shorts is pretty big.
Nowadays I think the shorts are in the closet or laundry of my Dad or something (just in case this affects your answer, he’s a non-Christian).

Do you guys have any advice on anything I should do?

If you are able to track down the participant, you can give the shorts back to him/her as the shorts rightfully belongs to that person. If not, I think you can donate it or use it yourself. I would not throw it away as someone else can use it.

Do you know the owner of the shorts? You can add a post to the lost and found bulletin at the event venue (just an idea). There is a small possibility that the shorts may have some meaning to the owner (a special gift, etc.). However, if no one responds, I think you can keep or donate.

I have no idea who the owner is haha.
The event was a cross country meet for like a few schools and it was at like a (public maybe?) trail with a pavilion. I’m not sure if they have a lost and found bulletin.
[btw I’ve edited this msg]

Sounds like they are yours or your dads to keep and wear or do what he likes with. Dont worry about it.
Im sure the original owner isnt worried about it.

I once left behind a pair of sneakers at a christian camp, and they were kinda my favourite ones but I got new ones. They didnt have my name on them and its not likely they would have found their way back to me since the camp was so far away. This was years ago.

lol Im sure if someone did wear them I wouldnt mind.
