So the particular turn of phrase used in Daniel 11:37 may be corroborative but it isn't proof of your assertion.

i'm saying many congregations also don't believe Christ is God. that's not the same as saying Christ isn't the Messiah -- the key is that the Messiah is God Himself, manifest in flesh. see John 8:24

I get what you’re saying. But someone that believed Christ wasn’t divine or the Messiah couldn’t get past any Trinitarian church (Catholic or Protestant) for very long before they got the boot. I could see the anti christ coming from a Unitarian type church.

my particular church, no way. every sermon our pastor tells us Christ is God about 15 times, at least. we call it "rule #1" for interpreting scripture: Christ is never not God. we are trained to spot denying that within 5 minutes

before i was convinced it is Judas, i always thought a mormon is more likely than a pope.

the mormon's even have a specific prophecy about someone taking control of the US government & also being enthroned in a mormon temple, and holding power over the whole world from there. and they believe they themselves become gods, that Jesus was only an exalted human, that He is different from YHWH and that YHWH was also once a human under another god, who became exalted to be god over planet earth.

some segment of American Christianity has always called every pope and every non-Republican president the antichrist. i'm very suspicious of those kinds of people.
