Hebrews 10:1-2
New International Version
Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
10 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins.

Romans 8:1-2
New International Version
8 Therefore, there is now no condemnation for
those who are in Christ Jesus, 2 because through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit who gives life has set you free from the law of sin and death.

We learn from Hebrews 10:2 that under the old law, we would remain in guilt for our sins, but under the new law of grace, we are now Romans 8:1 in no condemnation for our sin.

If you are in Christ, as in if you have put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation. Salvation from what? Sin and death. Then you invited the Spirit of God to live within you. Soul and Spirit are now aligned as we learn to submit and obey the will of God. We are set free from guilt, shame, and death. God has given us the Spirit of peace and liberty from the bondage of sin.

Do not put yourself back in bondage

Galatians 5
New International Version
5 It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.

The weight of bondage is crushing. Right where satan wants the believer to be. Guard your mind and soul from such lies. Live free in Christ Jesus and stand firm in that truth.

Leviticus 26:13 NLT - "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt so you would no longer be their slaves. I broke the yoke of slavery from your neck so you can walk with your heads held high."

Physical slavery is much different than spiritual slavery.

Is it? You don't think that what you've shared is reflective in the verse I posted? I posted that verse in support of what you wrote, which was being released from bondage.

The passage I quoted is what the entire Bible is about . . . being released from the Bondage of Evil. This is the Core Doctrine of the Bible, and the above passage is absolutely about being released from Spiritual Bondage . . . the Devil and his effectual relationship with the majority of the world.

Yes, in scripture, we have both physical and spiritual references to slavery.

Leviticus 26:13 is literally talking about the physical slavery. All I'm saying is it isn't exactly a proper reference. I'm sure you can find a better verse.

When Jesus set the woman at the Mount of Olives and the man at the Pool of Bethesda free from their guilt and shame respectively, He told both of them, "Go (free), and sin no more..." He lifted their burdens off them, of condemnation in one instance and of the state of being known as 'the invalid' in the other. And, I believe, Jesus did this fully aware that neither of these would immediately be completely 'sinless,' or perfect, but progress, always with hope, faith, and love in remembrance of Him along their walk, degree by degree toward perfection in Christ.

I agree. A state of sanctification.

Idk why you laugh. I'm not meaning no offense just trying to help you see the context. Look and see...

Leviticus 26
New International Version

26 “‘Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the Lord your God.
2 “‘Observe my Sabbaths and have reverence for my sanctuary. I am the Lord.
3 “‘If you follow my decrees and are careful to obey my commands, 4 I will send you rain in its season, and the ground will yield its crops and the trees their fruit. 5 Your threshing will continue until grape harvest and the grape harvest will continue until planting, and you will eat all the food you want and live in safety in your land.
6 “‘I will grant peace in the land, and you will lie down and no one will make you afraid. I will remove wild beasts from the land, and the sword will not pass through your country. 7 You will pursue your enemies, and they will fall by the sword before you. 8 Five of you will chase a hundred, and a hundred of you will chase ten thousand, and your enemies will fall by the sword before you.
9 “‘I will look on you with favor and make you fruitful and increase your numbers, and I will keep my covenant with you. 10 You will still be eating last year’s harvest when you will have to move it out to make room for the new. 11 I will put my dwelling place among you, and I will not abhor you. 12 I will walk among you and be your God, and you will be my people. 13 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt so that you would no longer be slaves to the Egyptians; I broke the bars of your yoke and enabled you to walk with heads held high.

14 “‘But if you will not listen to me and carry out all these commands, 15 and if you reject my decrees and abhor my laws and fail to carry out all my commands and so violate my covenant, 16 then I will do this to you: I will bring on you sudden terror, wasting diseases and fever that will destroy your sight and sap your strength. You will plant seed in vain, because your enemies will eat it. 17 I will set my face against you so that you will be defeated by your enemies; those who hate you will rule over you, and you will flee even when no one is pursuing you.

This whole section is being spoken to the Israelites. In verse 13 it is specifically talking about the past event that took place. It was a physical slavery where as even once free from their physical slavery they were still enslaved to sin. I hope you can see the difference. Nothing to fight over.

Thanks, but because we don't agree on the Core Doctrine of the Bible, we'll never come to an agreement. This doesn't mean that eaither of us are bad people, just that we don't agree. This isn't a big deal; we're cool. :)
