The old testament gives secular history as an illustration of spiritual truths, and the feasts are an example. It tells of God’s planting Christ in the springtime, as we plant our food, of growing in the summer with the law in our hearts as guidance, and reaping the harvest of saved souls with the fall feasts.

The three spring Passover feasts tells of Christ. The blood of the lamb of God on the doorposts is the blood of Christ, the Feast of Unleavened Bread tells that Christ cleans out our sins, and the Feast of First Fruits is Christ as the first fleshly person to be resurrected. In the summer we grow through Pentecost, celebrating the law in our hearts. In the Fall is the harvest of the souls Christ has saved. The Feast of Trumpets announces that Christ returns with a loud noise, the Day of Atonement is to celebrate when Christ judges us to determine our rewards, and the Feast of Tabernacles celebrates the new earth that saved souls will live in.

We say they are Jewish feasts, but the Jews are still looking for the Christ that these feasts celebrate. We are Christians who know Christ has come and is with us, it is our celebration.

Nice. You know, prior to Christ having Circumcised my Heart, you could have written these same things, and none of it would have meant anything to me. I hadn't even read the Old Testament until 49 years old, and even then, had been in the "church" my entire life. I had no idea that the New Testament is the continuation of the Old Testament. I had no idea that the entire Bible was simply giving us an explanation of first, the Power of God, and second, the Plan of God. I had no idea of how important it was, and is, that we thoroughly understand the Old Testament so that we can even have a chance at understanding the New Testament.

But the Truth is, is that until a person understands the Spiritual Circumcision is the Primary focus of the Bible, second to realize the Power of God, the Bible and the teachings that we think are so clearly within it . . . will be elusive and remain that way. Spiritual Circumcision absolutely has its role in the Bible, from early, early Genesis to Revelations.

The Purpose of Christ is to cut out and remove the part of the Adamic Curse that separates us from God. Jesus Redeems us from the Curse that besets each of us, becoming that Curse for us as He hung on His Tree. If we don't understand this Core Doctrine of the Bible, the Tree in the Garden of Eden in Genesis 3 will make little sense. As the First Book of Adam and Eve states, "Humans would have to wait 5,000 years to be able to finally and freely eat of that Tree, which is Jesus, the Tree of Life.

Ahhh . . . I could keep going, and going, and going.

Those feasts are not ones that outline God's plan of salvation, they are not given in scripture, they have no place here.

I have read many true Christians who believe that when James declared that Christians do not need to be Jewish it included not needing to recognize the feasts. I was hoping these Christians would present their views that would oppose my OP so it could be discussed in the Christian community.

I feel so strongly about the messages of the feasts being the heart of Christianity, I was hoping for a discussion of that.

Leviticus 23:

4 These are the feasts of the LORD, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons.

5 In the fourteenth day of the first month at even is the LORD'S passover.

6 And on the fifteenth day of the same month is the feast of unleavened bread unto the LORD: seven days ye must eat unleavened bread.

When the Lord brought the children of Israel out of the bondage of Egypt, He did so after having judged Egypt.

When the children of Israel left Egypt, God told Moses to encamp between Migdol and the sea (Ex 14:2). The Egyptians pursued after the Israelites in order to bring them back into bondage (Ex 14:5). The Israelites berated Moses for bringing them out of captivity, even telling Moses they preferred the bondage of Egypt (Ex 14:12). God told the Israelites to go forward on dry ground through the sea (Ex 14:16). The angel of the Lord which had gone before the Israelites went and stood behind the people ... between the Israelites and the Egyptians. On the Israelite side, the angel provided light so they could pass through the sea. On the Egyptian side, the angel provided darkness so they could not pursue the Israelites (Ex 14:19-20). Once the Israelites had passed through the sea, the Egyptians followed and were drowned after God no longer parted the sea.

This reminds me of how we now come to the Lord Jesus Christ as our Passover. We leave the bondage of this world and the sin which holds us in bondage to it, satan follows after us and pursues us. Instead of keeping our hearts focused on the Lord, we sometimes fall back into those old sinful habits ... just as the children of Israel sometimes complained that they preferred the bondage of Egypt to the wilderness they found themselves in (even though God fed them with manna).

We need to keep our hearts focused on the Lord Jesus Christ and not be distracted by the enticements satan brings to our attention in his efforts to bring us back into bondage ... God will bring us through each and every situation we face in our wilderness wandering. God is faithful. Just as God provided manna for the children of Israel, He has filled us and He continues to fill us each and every day so that we have exactly what we need in order to overcome the trials of this life.

1 Corinthians 10:

1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

14 Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.
