In a couple of hours I shall snooze  that's if I stop the coffee :coffee:. I am trying to see how many emoji's I can use:geek: so if this does not make sense, it's not supposed to . If it does make sense, you have had a long day  or maybe I have . How many emojis are left , too many . What should I talk about next , I am running out of words :cautious:, which is really unusual o_O. Am I there yet . No, looks like it is not going to happen . The end

Your quite wise with the coffee at night time. Too many means a night wide awake - well for me anyhow lol.

You can't beat a real fire going when its cold outside.. I haven't got one, just gas central heating. I remember years ago the first house I lived in had a coal fire. It was great when it was going but not so good first thing in the morning when it needed cleaned out . And for some reason every time I went outside for a bucket of coal it was raining!! (well, it seemed that way lol).

I dont drink coffee after 4pm otherwise I risk being awake practically all night and during the day can only have two maximum. After that I would have a low caffeine tea at night.

The cottage that I am renting now has a small fireplace in the lounge which is also near my bedroom. It is awesome when it gets going but you need to use quite a bit of wood. My landlord who is also my neighbour goes bush and brings wood back. I chop it though and had to learn to do so. I have gotten quite good at it . He has a bit of a laugh when he sees me as his wife wont go near it. She said the inside of the house is her business and the outside is his. That includes wood . She says she takes care of his stomach and he loves food so if he does not have the wood stacked under the patio he has to get his own food. He hates cooking so it works out well for the both of them. Good match .

The last place I rented had a small electrical heater that didn't do much. You had to be practically sitting on it to feel any warmth. It was unpleasant but praise God that this place is better in that regards but it is also in the hills and the temp here is up to about five to seven degrees colder than where I used to live so it gets mighty cold.

What is central heating? Is that like a reverse cycle air con that gives out cold in the summer and heat in the winter. One of these things

I think your neigbours wife has it right ha ha !

Central heating is where a gas boiler heats up water and sends the hot water to radiators around the house in each room. You can set the temperature you want for the house, or program it to come on and off at different times. I keep mine at 19° and it just comes on and of itself whenever it goes below or above that. You can get electric boilers as well. The one boiler gives you both hot water and heating. The boilers are quite small and just go on your wall.

like this, the return air comes in the bottom, is heated and is supplied to the living unit out the top. This also called a forced air furnace.

I gather we have the central heating thing here but I personally haven't come in contact with it. I kind of like looking at the fireplace. It is nice, soothing and relaxing.

I know I miss a fire especially in winter when its blowing a gale outside. I think central heating is more common in colder climates.. like here lol.

Good morning Mailman Dan, and all, Yes Miss Ruby, it is indeed a soothing thing to have a fire place to watch, here we need to be sure to use hard woods as the soft woods, pine and such will build up creosote and start a chimney fire.
People I know who must use soft woods keep a bag of ice in the freezer, if there is a chimney fire they can throw the bag of ice in the woodstove and the resulting steam will put out the fire.
