oh just close the shop if you dont want ppl touching things...honestly.

well the 'Bubble' to Australia has burst, as thought it would. The papers of course are freaking out because a dad is missing out of his twins birthday, and people are being stuck in Australia, a sentence worse than death for some.

The headlines scream you cant go to Australia its in lockdown next to ads from Qantas saying book your flight to the Gold Coast now.

Personally, I usually catch a cold twice a year

I have not gotten sick in 18 months

I will continue wearing masks because getting sick is lame

We went to our favorite buffet last weekend, for the first since covid19. They now require gloves while you fill your plate. People don't seem to mind. They had a full house, and everyone put on gloves without objection.

I think Australia's track record with stopping this pandemic speaks for itself. Yes we're overly cautious, but look at what happened in other countries where the people didn't take it seriously.

To put things in perspective, the amount of people who have now died from Covid around the world roughly equates to that of Melbourne - an entire Australian capital city, or the entire population of my home country New Zealand.

And working in a shop myself, I really don't appreciate the lax attitude people have toward Covid rules. Our lives are at risk because we can't stop people from coming though our doors. We're here to keep everyone supplied with the things that need, and yet the Karens and their male equivalents treat us with complete disrespect.

in georgia ( u.s.) , we were only fully locked down for about 2 months, things slowly opened up from may 2020 till march 2021, we have been fully open for almost 3 months , only a few people still wear masks , and things are fine.

we are also only 38% vaccinated , so the silly media and politician narrative that death and doom will happen without it is total bunk,

lockdowns and social distancing mandates are purely political , and have little to do with covid.....

australia looking a bit silly right now
when theres an outbreak in your country you just deal with it best you can. To stop infection you need to have quarantine measures and this goes with any type of virus not just covid.

Lots of people dont undertand how disease spreads. Its like hygiene isnt even taught.

You know what the Israelites did to stop from dying from the ten plagues? They obeyed God.

When Miriam was struck with leprosy she was kept apart from eveyone else for at least 7 days.
This was way back in OT times. they understood quarantine then too.

I never have liked the usage of the name Karen for somebody that acts all freaked out. Tell you why. Because if one even tried to use a name from a lot of different other cultures implying that person get all freaked out there'd be an outcry of willful bigotry. Everybody knows this would be true too.

karens?

anyway, I think australians have now spread virus to nz it was only a matter of time. So we are all now quarantined again for 3-7 days.

so much for that trans-tasman bubble. It wasnt going to last and it was silly to think it would. Hopefully it wont turn into chaos like it has in NSW.

if you are a shopkeeper i.e you own the business you can shut up shop whenever you like. Its your business. You make the rules. You may lose business temproarily but thats the thing, what is more important, customers health and safety or your wallet.
