Let me tell you about the God I worship!! God strategically placed Pharoah and his army between the mountains of the wilderness and the Red Sea. Pharaoh thought he had the upper hand as the Israelites, from all outward appearance, looked trapped between a mountain and a sea.

Exodus 13:17-20
New International Version
17 When Pharaoh let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, “If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.” 18 So God led the people around by the desert road toward the Red Sea.The Israelites went up out of Egypt ready for battle.

19 Moses took the bones of Joseph with him because Joseph had made the Israelites swear an oath. He had said, “God will surely come to your aid, and then you must carry my bones up with you from this place.”

20 After leaving Sukkoth they camped at Etham on the edge of the desert.

(In Etham, in the eyes of the Israelites, all they could see was the mountainous terrain and the Red Sea preventing the exodus that Moses had promised. )

Exodus 14
New International Version

14 Then the Lord said to Moses, 2 “Tell the Israelites to turn back and encamp near Pi Hahiroth, between Migdol and the sea. They are to encamp by the sea, directly opposite Baal Zephon. 3 Pharaoh will think, ‘The Israelites are wandering around the land in confusion, hemmed in by the desert.’ 4 And I will harden Pharaoh’s heart, and he will pursue them. But I will gain glory for myself through Pharaoh and all his army, and the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord.” So the Israelites did this.

( The Lord spoke to Moses, telling him to turn the people back and camp near the sea. This gave Pharaoh the impression that the Israelites had lost their way, trapped between the terrain and the sea. After the hardening of Pharaoh's own heart over and over, God was about to bring one final judgment on his wickedness. Neither Moses nor the Israelites could see the entire plan of the battle. They were just the boots on the ground, if you will, following the commands of their leaders—the people to Moses and Moses to God. God then hardens the heart of Pharaoh so that he will fall for the trap God had laid out. )

Exodus 14:10-15
New International Version
10 As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up, and there were the Egyptians, marching after them. They were terrified and cried out to the Lord. 11 They said to Moses, “Was it because there were no graves in Egypt that you brought us to the desert to die? What have you done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? 12 Didn’t we say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians’? It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

13 Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. 14 The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

(The Israelites panicked as of now they were stuck between the terrain, the sea, and the army of Pharaoh. The Israelites, not knowing what freedom was or how to appreciate it fully, then began to cry out to Moses, saying, “It would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than to die in the desert!”

Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm, and you will see the deliverance the Lord will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again. The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

YOU NEED ONLY TO BE STILL!!! Haha, God is good.

Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.

I love it. This passage is evident that Moses knew God would save them, but He didn't know how. I love God's answer. “Why are you crying out to me? As in Moses, come on, man, I got this! Tell the Israelites to move on.

We went from Be still to a simple command of Move. The will of God is within the timing of God. A strategically placed timing for you to achieve the victory over whatever you may be going through. In your eyes, you may only see the mountain, the sea, or the enemy, but God will deliver you. Remember this phrase: In my eyes, I may only see the mountain, the sea, or the enemy, but it is God who will deliver me.

The Israelites facing the army of Pharaoh with their backs to the Red Sea was given a command to MOVE. Without hesitation, Moses obeyed, held up his staff, and the water split, giving the Israelites a dry passage to the other side.

Even with our backs against the wall, all odds look against us, trapped, and all we can see are the problems we face. Remember Be Still and wait on the Lord. When the command of Move is given, you must be ready because when God moves, your mountains are thrown into the sea, your prison doors are opened, your sea split in two, your body back to life, your mind brought to peace, your impossible becomes possible, and your sins forgiven.

Be still and know that I am God says the scriptures. Can you be still long enough to know God? Can you be quiet long enough to hear from God? Often I feel God say, “Why are you crying out to me when I have already spoken these promises to you? The command has already been given.” Have faith and move. Step out of that boat, step out of the prison, step out of that sin, that mental illness, step out, and step up to what God is calling you to do. No excuses, no regrets, no looking back for in the words of Jesus, “no one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”

Looking back while trying to move forward is not only dangerous but will eventually lead to disaster. You are either all in or not. Hot or cold. We are not called to be lukewarm.

Let us move where God has commanded us to go! Amen!

it was actually about believing what God has already said....instead of begging God for what we already have as though we do not have it. As per what you say about God saying He would take care of the Egyptians. The Israelites acted as though that were questionable. Which I think we all suffer from from time to time...

Teacher went from the old to the new testaments and drew parallels.

In other words, we are not impoverished but have all things as God has promised. God will take care of the Egyptians in our lives...maybe not as we would have thought, and it may take time, but "He's got it!"

We have been told that there will be a terrible time of tchesting for us in these last days, and with the many genocides, with the Muslims killing Christians in some areas, and even in our US becoming more and more fleshly, we feel it coming closer and closer. It would be easy to feel afraid.

We don't need to be afraid. We can fully depend on our God to care for us, even if we are going to be asked what is more important to us, our life in the flesh or our eternal life with our Lord.

Just after Christ was crucified, that was asked of Christians by the Romans. We have their example to follow.

God rules, God is the victor.
