As Aristotle said, 'Excellence is a habit.' I would say furthermore that excellence is made constant through the feeling that comes right after one has completed a work which he himself finds undeniably awe-inspiring. He only wants to relax until he's ready to renew such a feeling all over again because to him, all else has become absolutely trivial.

I find Aristotle's quote to be enlightening as I can relate to his words. When I operate in the will of God, I find the work that he has prepared for me to be awe-inspiring. Being led by the Holy Spirit's inspiration involves patience, prayer, and acting on such prompting when the moment arises. It is in the moments between inspirations that can feel so trivial. We will hunger and thirst for such a feeling of being so close to God that it becomes a daily choice to grow closer or move further away. Longing to feel the inspiration once more, we, if not careful, may try to force divine inspiration or try to act presumptuously in the time God is actually saying to rest. God knows the limits of the physical, mental, and spiritual sides of the flesh. God walked amongst us in the flesh and experienced the boundaries of the flesh.

The mundane and trivial tasks that absorb so much of our lives can sometimes stir up the question of why what is the point. We can fall into feeling burned out, choked out, or loss of energy. But we must stay focused on the things above as this will provide the proper perspective of the world.

Colossians 3:2
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.

Paul put it this way in Philippians 1:20-26

20 I eagerly expect and hope that I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.
21 For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.
22 If I am to go on living in the body, this will mean fruitful labor for me. Yet what shall I choose? I do not know!
23 I am torn between the two: I desire to depart and be with Christ, which is better by far;
24 but it is more necessary for you that I remain in the body.
25 Convinced of this, I know that I will remain, and I will continue with all of you for your progress and joy in the faith,
26 so that through my being with you again your boasting in Christ Jesus will abound on account of me.

Paul was more focused on the things above, which led him to the conclusion that until God called him home, it was necessary for him to stay. Why? To help the believers progress, to achieve fruitful labor, and to encourage boasting in Christ Jesus.

So let us remember to not be presumptuous in God's inspiration, let us take the time to rest, and let us not get burned out on trivial matters but instead stay focused on the mission. The mission of salvation for all who will hear and believe.
