Anyone in need of Peace and Rest? God knows your needs and has already made a way! And it Starts with knowing your creator!

Knowing Him comes from a knowledge Of the Word and Prayer.

The test of Knowing God....

1 john 2:3 And this is how we may discern [daily, by experience] that we are coming to know Him [to perceive, recognize, understand, and become better acquainted with Him]: if we keep (bear in mind, observe, practice) His teachings (precepts, commandments).4 Whoever says, I know Him [I perceive, recognize, understand, and am acquainted with Him] but fails to keep and obey His commandments (teachings) is a liar, and the Truth [of the Gospel] is not in him.

"A believe that does not lead to obedience is presumption."MBp.146

5 But he who keeps (treasures) His Word [who bears in mind His precepts, who observes His message in its entirety], truly in him has the love of and for God been perfected (completed, reached maturity). By this we may perceive (know, recognize, and be sure) that we are in Him:

So what is presumption>?
an idea that is taken to be true, and often used as the basis for other ideas, although it is not known for certain.
"underlying presumptions about human nature"

When we misunderstand our own human nature because we do not know God.

Every doctrine you believe shapes your understanding of God. When we believe in something there will always be action after the fact, Not to be saved but because you are saved! When a man believes he is in love with a women then he moves to action.

If the doctrine does not lead to the love of God and give you a photo of Jesus in your mind you might want to rethink your Doctrine if it be of presumption.

For example:

Hell fire the idea of someone burning forever and ever.

Does this lead you to a loving relationship with God>? or does it make you do something out of fear of judgment?

Brothers and sisters there is no fear in Love, Love cast out fear.

I agree that knowing God is basic to our well being. But we can read scripture from Genesis to Revelation over and over and not know God. Scripture can be read as purely history, or as only spiritual with no historical context, or from a God who is human, or as a book of poetry.

If we are to read God's word with understanding, we must learn the attributes of the author of that book. Some people even read the old and new testaments as from two very different authors, we need to understand they are from the same author, that author is holy and never errs.

Jesus told us that the word is understood differently in different soils. We need to know how to create the healthy loam in ourselves that makes the word take root and grow, not be rocky soil.

The word will do its job. If your sharing the word with someone that does not respect the word then I would say don't cast your pearls to swine.
6 Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.

His word does not come back void.
Not without accomplishing His purpose - which may be to bless or to judge. To condemn and destroy, or to justify and build up.

Recall that the same parables He spoke had different intents for different people, simultaneously: to give more to those who have, and to take away from those who do not.

We may share the word with someone and it serves as a witness against them, and that very same word as a door for someone else to go through. It is a sword with two edges
