I was ignorant when I came here. I wanted to study scripture calmly and in love and never dreamed that denominational Christians would lash out at me with such vehemence. There has been enough of that in my life and that is put away. There are hateful things that could be said about any group I've ever encountered. It feels awful to put people on ignore because what they say is offensive because someday they might say something of value. Some shout what they know because that is the way they learned it from the pulpit. Some of us have experienced so much hate and violence that Suicide "for me" once seemed the only choice. I'm not there now. I plead the blood of Jesus the Christ as my covering.

Perhaps I am not tough enough to remain here?

I have several on ignore. Although we might be brothers in Christ it does not mean we can build together. I left the boxed churches 23 years ago yet I am keenly aware that many who sit in pews on Sunday are my brothers who love the Truth. The same is true here. Here, I find value in discussions with others who know the Lord and the scriptures: iron sharpening iron.

I commend you to God, sister. You seem to be one who loves the Truth. You will have to decide if there is value for you here or not.

Grace and Peace,
Aaron56

Was in another CC forum and thread earlier, and with all the division and unbelievable back and forth, was almost to the point of posting "I quit". Like Aaron said though, You will have to decide if there is value for you here or not.

Hope you stay (you are not here by accident :)).

God bless.

Please don’t feel you should leave , are you sure your being attacked or just disagreed with ?

I’ve noticed the bdf gets heated but there are also a lot of forums here that really are more about fellowship and encouragement and tbe also share scripture and prayer and friendship

Maybe you came here because your ready to offer Gods true sacrifice ?

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”

I am 96, in a wheelchair and completely isolated from the Christian community. This site is everything to me. It has led me to a study of what the Lord tells me so often besides letting me talk about the Lord I love so.

Please don't believe that all are Christians here. You can tell the sheep from the wolves by the teeth. Scattering the flock, and attacking is what brings them here. Just hit ignore. That's the best solution.

I'm not sure what hateful things were said. I'll just make an observation about some things you posted that may have drawn heat from others. You were saying that you saw nothing wrong with Islam, that all religions worship the same God and that you didn't want any feedback. Forgive me if I misquoted you, I'm just going off memory. You have to understand that when you come to a Christian forum and say such things people are going to react emotionally and give you feedback whether you want it or not. Unfortunately not all of it in the kindest way.

I'd advise you make use of the ignore feature and simply ignore problem posters in the future. Nothing says you have to read hateful posts. There will always be plenty of other posters to fellowship with and enjoy. :)

Not everyone who joins a Christian community are actually Christian.

There is an ignore function that you may avail yourself of for the worst offenders, as you describe. What's interesting when I've done that on other forums is, the ill behaved ones tended to be those who made the BDF (Bible Discussion Forum) to be busy. When they were on ignore and it was the Christians replying, the threads were slow in responses.

Maybe you can look at your encounters with those you describe as an opportunity to test the armor of God that you're told to put on as a Christian. Because remember, we don't war against flesh and blood but against principalities against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Sure enough, those types enter Christian discussion sites. If Satan could approach Jesus when he was fasting in the desert for 40 days, Christians online are a certain target.

Thank you to those who responded and to those who thought good thoughts. I'll try to be more stable.
You're not unstable for being concerned about the attitudes that descend upon your posts. You have every right to find those attitudes contrary to what should be among Christians.
There are times when we may find it necessary to speak their language just to get their attention that we know what they are. Some say we should always be polite, kind, yada yada, when responding to hate filled people. Jesus wasn't that way. The Pharisees and Sadducees learned that when they brought Jesus before them and put him on trial.

You're doing fine. :) You wanted opinions about what you were thinking after being treated badly here. Nothing to apologize for. Those who treat you badly are the ones that owe you an apology. However, if contrition were in their wheelhouse they'd not attack you. So there is that.

I hope you stay. Sometimes the goal of hateful people is to make a Christian forum their own. Having caused the actual Christians on board to leave due to maltreatment.
Stay. That'll really tick them off. ;) Some hateful people hate us because we're saved. And they like to act the fool to see if we'll consistently hold to the admonitions of Jesus. That about loving your enemies and doing good to those who hurt you and praying for them , etc...
Just remember, Jesus was God. God wasn't loving to his enemies in the OT. He killed them. So if you lose your temper with someone who's ragging on you constantly, don't feel bad. You're speaking their language. They can't understand the language in the scriptures, so they seek to bait Christians into paying them attention in a way they understand.

Sucks to be them.

Board Trolls are serving that Psalm 51:17 purpose of God?
yeah and many just dismiss psalm 51

Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.

Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. For I acknowledge my transgressions: and my sin is ever before me.

Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight: that thou mightest be justified when thou speakest, and be clear when thou judgest.

Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.

Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.

Hide thy face from my sins, and blot out all mine iniquities. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.

Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.

Then will I teach transgressors thy ways; and sinners shall be converted unto thee.

Deliver me from bloodguiltiness, O God, thou God of my salvation: and my tongue shall sing aloud of thy righteousness.

O Lord, open thou my lips; and my mouth shall shew forth thy praise. For thou desirest not sacrifice; else would I give it: thou delightest not in burnt offering.

The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭51:1-4, 6-7, 9-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is waiting for sinners to break before him and reach that point that David reached here’s what David learned

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the Lord imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.

When I kept silence, my bones waxed old through my roaring all the day long. For day and night thy hand was heavy upon me: my moisture is turned into the drought of summer. Selah.

I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.

For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭32:1-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s our lesson

“If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭1:8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We need to break from self righteousness and trying to hide our sins and start acknowledging them it take a broken pride and heart to do that

If Psalm 51 speaks to you about the purpose behind the presence of board Trolls on a Christian discussion site, that's perfectly fine. :)
