Are you strong or flimsy?

Behold what the Creator does for the widow and orphans.

1 – He protects widows’ property:

• Pro 15:25 -> “Jehovah will destroy the house of the proud, but He will set up the border of the widow.”.

2 – He relieves the orphan and widow:

• Psa 146:9 -> “Jehovah preserves the strangers; He relieves the orphan and widow, but the way of the wicked He turns upside down.”.

3 – He enjoins His servants to visit needy orphans and widows:

• Jas 1:27 -> “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit orphans and widows in their afflictions, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.”.

4 – He receive them as Father and Judge:

• Psa 68:5,6 -> “In His holy dwelling God is the father of the fatherless, and the judge of the widows. God causes the lonely to live at home; He brings out those who are bound with chains; but the rebellious dwell in a dry land.”.

5 – He carries out justice for them:

• Deu 10:17,18 -> “For Jehovah your God is God of gods, and Lord of lords, a great God, the mighty, and a terrible God, who does not respect persons nor take a bribe. He executes justice for the fatherless and widow, and loves the stranger in giving him food and clothing.”.

On the other hand, see what the Creator do against the proud:

1 – He will chastise them:

• Psa 52:1,5 -> “Why do you boast yourself in evil, O mighty man? The mercy of God endures forever. God will likewise destroy you forever; He shall take you away, and pluck you out of your tent, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.”.

2 – He will resist them:

1Pe 5:5 -> “Likewise, younger ones, be subject to older ones, and all being subject to one another. Put on humility. For God resists proud ones, but He gives grace to the humble.”.

3 – He will destroy their house:

• Pro 15:25 -> “Jehovah will destroy the house of the proud, but He will set up the border of the widow.”.

Note that it isn’t “home”, but “house”. This is because the proud can acquire houses, but never will have a home in virtue of they always look on themselves superior to everyone else.

4 – He will abase them:

• Dan 5:20 -> “But when his heart was lifted up, and his mind hardened in pride, he was put down from the throne of his kingdom, and they took his glory from him.”.

5 – He knows them afar off:

• Psa 138:6 -> “Though Jehovah is high, yet He has respect to the lowly; but the proud He knows afar off.”

6 – In the end, He will destroy them:

• Isa 2:12 -> “For the day of Jehovah of Hosts shall be on every proud and lofty one, and on every lifted up one; and he shall be brought low,”
• Job 40:11-13 -> “Pour forth the rage of your wrath; and behold everyone who is proud, and abase him. Look on everyone who is proud, and bring him low; and tread down the wicked in their place. Hide them in the dust together; and bind their faces in darkness.”.

So, have a marvelous day finding pleasure in weaknesses, in insults, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake; for when you am weak, then you am powerful (2Cor 12:10).
