yes but we just keep sharing the truth and let the lord work it all out . I reached a point where I mostly avoid those discussions with the ultra grace eraser crowd but it’s because I’m weak dealing with that I have no patience left for the same arguments I love finding people who are sharing scripture and learning scripture it’s much more edifying d I find a lot of learning in those types of discussions

this one actually is bringing out some good subject matter I hope no one gets angry and carnal
The Lord is pretty good about keeping me from becoming carnal; I've been walking in the Spirit for a long time and when it comes to posting on message boards, I rarely get angry and I rarely stoop to carnal behaviour;

All glory be to Jesus Christ!

Of course the Judaizers were teaching that Gentile believers needed to be circumcised and keep the law of Moses in order to be saved.

But it should be clear that we will be blessed if we look into the perfect law of liberty and continue in it (James 1:25).

That the law of liberty is the ten commandments is evident in that included in it are the commands of "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not commit adultery" (James 2:10-12).

See also Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; 1 John 2:3-6; Romans 5:5.

All of these scriptures show the importance of keeping the law under the New Covenant; not as our justification; but with the motivation that is given to us in Philemon 1:6 and other passages; because we are born again rather than in order to obtain our salvation in the first place.

1 John 3:4,9 also tells us that we will be obedient to the law if we are truly born again; and it is not that we keep the law in order to procure our salvation; but that rather because we are truly born again, we are obedient to the law (we "do not" and "cannot" sin).
OK, i see where you are at

The point of the verses is what we might find in Matthew 5:20.
Yeah the Pharisees like Paul was who followed the law “ faultlessly “ and found it wasn’t comparable to the gospel ? And references it as worth dung in comparison to the righteousness of Christ and the gospel ?

That’s a great place to meet

“Though I might also have confidence in the flesh. If any other man thinketh that he hath whereof he might trust in the flesh, I more: Circumcised the eighth day, of the stock of Israel, of the tribe of Benjamin, an Hebrew of the Hebrews; as touching the law, a Pharisee;

Concerning zeal, persecuting the church; touching the righteousness which is in the law, blameless.

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ.

Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.”
‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3:4-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the law even if kept can only make us like a Pharisee self righteous and never even knowing the lord but instead a law meant to hold men guilty , the gospel let’s us know the lord

“And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Moses let’s us know our sins , the gospel let’s us come to know God the father through the son Jesus Christ and also offers the Holy Spirit to live in us , three who the law never mentions

Brother, God is in control, your in a Good Place - Jesus and His Holy Spirit and the Fear of the Lord - You have exalted His Word above yours.

I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee.
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth:
for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.

And I would add...

Mat 23:25, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Mat 23:26, Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Mat 23:27, Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Mat 23:28, Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

As this applies to the righteousness which is of God by faith as opposed to the righteousness of the law.

The righteousness of the law is what Jesus lambasted the Pharisees about;

While the righteousness of faith cleanses the inside of the cup and platter.

Also, the righteousness of faith (Philippians 3:9) means that we receive the Holy Spirit (Galatians 3:14) and will walk according to the Spirit...

Which translates into the righteousness of the law being fulfilled in us (Romans 8:4).

According to scripture, we are not under the law (Romans 6:14) are dead to the law (Romans 7:4, Galatians 2:19) and have been delivered from the law (Romans 7:6) as concerning condemnation.
True enough. But there has been a lot of misunderstanding by Christians who have not clearly understood what Paul was saying when he said that "we are not under the Law" (by implication the Law of Moses). All of the above is true, yet we need to have a very clear understanding of what it means to be under the Law of Christ (also called "the Law of Faith", "the Royal Law", "the Law of Love", and "the Law of Liberty").

Many have mistakenly assumed that the Law of Moses was "bad". And that is simply not the case. When speaking about the entire Law of Moses, the Holy Spirit says through Paul that the Law is (1) holy, (2) just, (3), good, and (4) spiritual. Yet many Christians have missed all this.

Since the Law of Moses includes the Ten Commandments, all of this would be applicable to them, as well as to the many moral and civil laws given to Israel. All the commandments pertaining to the tabernacle (and temple), the Levitical priesthood, the sacrifices and offerings, the feasts, festivals, and holy days, the ceremonial observances, etc. were all good in their place and for as long as the Law was in effect (until the day Christ died).

In the meantime, the scribes, Pharisees, doctors, and lawyers had made the Law burdensome, and also misrepresented it to suit their own carnal ideas. Furthermore they had started teaching that a sinner could be justified by the works or deeds of the Law. All of this had to be addressed in the Gospel.

Furthermore, Christ came to "fulfil the Law". But the term "the law" has several applications, and all of those were included in this matter. Not only is the Law of Moses called the Law, but the entire Torah (five books) is called the Law, and in many places the entire Tanakh (24 books corresponding to out 39 books of the OT) is also called the Law. Christ fulfilled the Law by (1) being perfectly obedient to it, (2) fulfilling all the types and shadows of Himself, (3) fulfilling five of the feasts of Israel, (4) fulfilling all the animal sacrifices as the Lamb of God, and (5) fulfilling the perfect work of atonement which could not be fulfilled otherwise, so that there is no more sacrifice for sins.

In view of this, God made the Law of Moses (the Old Covenant) obsolete, and established the Law of Christ (under the New Covenant). Which means that Ten Commandments are as applicable to Christians as they are to the whole world. The difference is that God has given the believer the gift of the Holy Spirit, and it is by the power of the Spirit that the children of God can fulfil the Law (through agape love). Christ summed up the entire Law of Moses in the two greatest commandments, then distilled those two commandments into His one great commandment -- the commandment to love God and to love others as Christ loves them. This Law is even more demanding than the Law of Moses, since it requires self-sacrifice and total surrender to God and Christ.

1Jo 5:2, By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments.
Matthew 22:34-40

The Scribes: Which Is the First Commandment of All?
(Mark 12:28–34; Luke 10:25–28)
34 But when the Pharisees heard that He had silenced the Sadducees, they gathered together.
35 Then one of them, a lawyer, asked Him a question, testing Him, and saying, 36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

The Holy Ghost utilizes the law to do the work of conviction in our hearts (Romans 3:20).
If we just look to the law for conviction. We will fall to far short. The law was nt given to do that.

It was given to point us to christ.

The law of liberty is the ten commandments; as evidenced by James 2:10-12.

Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, is a part of the civil law. Jesus, in Matthew 5, corrected people who used this commandment to justify personally taking revenge. That is something that is to be meted out by the courts.
The Ten Commandments are the ministers of death engraved in stone.

The law of liberty is not the ten commands my friend.

It has been prophesied that heaven and earth must pass away.

This prophecy must be fulfilled before one jot or tittle of the law shall fail.
Yur right.

Until the last person is led to christ. The law still curses every person who does not keep every word.

If your a child of God. The schoolmaster has completed its job in you. Look now not to the law of moses. But the law of Christ. In whinch all the law and prophets are fulfilled.

Romans 3:19-26
19 Now we know that whatever the law says, it says to those who are under the law, that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.
20 Therefore by the deeds of the law no flesh will be justified in His sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
God’s Righteousness Through Faith
21 But now the righteousness of God apart from the law is revealed, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 even the righteousness of God, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe. For there is no difference;
23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
24 being justified freely by His grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God set forth as a propitiation by His blood, through faith, to demonstrate His righteousness, because in His forbearance God had passed over the sins that were previously committed,
26 to demonstrate at the present time His righteousness, that He might be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.

All of these scriptures show the importance of keeping the law under the New Covenant; not as our justification; but with the motivation that is given to us in Philemon 1:6 and other passages; because we are born again rather than in order to obtain our salvation in the first place.

Your thread title "Our new relationship with the law" does not agree with the Law or the Prophets.

Our New Relationship is with 'Who' the Law said we are to follow.

The Ten Commandments are the ministers of death engraved in stone.

The law of liberty is not the ten commands my friend.
In James 2:10-12, we are told that the commandments "Thou shalt not kill" and "Thou shalt not commit adultery" are a part of the law of liberty.

Furthermore, the law of Moses is written on our hearts and minds under the New Covenant (Hebrews 8:8-10, Hebrews 10:16, Romans 8:7, Romans 8:4, 1 John 5:3, 2 John 1:6, Romans 13:8-10; Romans 5:5; 1 John 2:3-6).

In this sense they are not written in stone but in fleshy tables of the heart.

It is when a person is not born again that the ten commandments are merely written on stone tablets to that person. They have not made an impact on the life of the unbeliever and therefore they are external to him.
