Do you look forward to making money? Be careful!!!

• Pro 15:27 -> “He who is greedy for gain troubles his own house, but he who hates bribes shall live.”.

As Solomon said:

• Pro 23:4 -> “Do not labor to be rich; cease from your own understanding.”.

After all:

• 1Ti 6:10 -> “For the love of money is a root of all evils, of which some having lusted after, they were seduced from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.”.

And we can see this reality, for example, in Achan and Gehazi:

See what happen to them when they wished what the Creator didn’t desire to him:

• Jos 7:22,24,25 -> “And Joshua sent messengers, and they ran into the tent. And behold, it was hidden in his tent, and the silver under it. And Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, and the silver, and the garment, and the wedge of gold, and his sons, and his daughters, and his oxen, and his asses, and his sheep, and his tent, and all that he had. And they brought them to the valley of Achor. And Joshua said, Why have you troubled us? Jehovah shall trouble you this day. And all Israel stoned him with stones, and burned them with fire, after they had stoned them with stones.”.

• 2Ki 5:26,27 -> “And he said to him, Did not my heart go with you when the man turned again from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to receive silver and to receive clothing and olive-yards and vineyards and sheep and oxen and menservants and maidservants? And the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your seed forever. And he went out from his presence as leprous as snow.”.

It is exactly what Solomon said:

• Pro 11:29 -> “He who troubles his own house shall inherit the wind; and the fool shall be servant to the wise in heart.”.

It’s sad what we bring about us when we long for a blessing that belongs to other:

• Hab 2:9-11 -> “Woe to him who robs evil booty for his house, to set his nest on high, to be delivered from the hand of evil! You have planned shame to your house, to make an end of many people, and are sinning in your soul. For the stone shall cry out of the wall, and the beam out of the timber shall answer it.”.

• Jer 17:11 -> “The quail sits on eggs and does not hatch them; in the same way he who gets riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the middle of his days, and in his end he shall be a fool.”.

This only brings malediction to us:

• Zec 5:3,4 -> “And he said to me, This is the curse that goes forth over the face of the whole earth; for from now on everyone who steals shall be cut off according to it; and everyone who swears from now on shall be cut off according to it. I will bring it forth, says Jehovah of Hosts; and it shall enter into the house of the thief, and into the house of him who swears falsely by My name. And it shall remain in the midst of his house, and shall devour it, and its timber and its stones.”.

• Pro 1:19 -> “So are the ways of everyone who gains unjust gain; it takes away its owners' life.”.

So, let’s be careful in order not to crave for more than what Jesus project to us. This can entangle us in many bad feelings and this, in turn, can make us faint:

• Isa 5:8-10 -> “Woe to those who join house to house, laying field to field, until the end of space, and you are made to dwell alone in the middle of the land! Jehovah of Hosts swore in my ears, Truly many houses shall be deserted, big and fair, without inhabitant. Yea, ten acres of vineyard shall yield one bath, and the seed of a homer shall yield an ephah.”.

So, have a good day only biding wherein Jesus already conquered for you (1Cor 2:9; Eph 1:3; 2Pe 1:3). Otherwise, the curse will reach you (Deut 28:15):

• Deu 7:26 -> “And you shall not bring an abomination into your house, lest you be a cursed thing like it. You shall utterly hate it, and you shall utterly despise it. For it is a cursed thing.”.
