It is easy to buy off a representative by sweetening a multi trillion dollar bill to help their district. What is critical is that the republicans do not vote to increase the debt ceiling. Make the Democrats own it. No one is going to blame the Republicans because the Democrats have majorities in both the house and the senate. The problem is that there are many independents and Democrats who know they won't be reelected if they increase the debt ceiling and that election is only one year away.
