Why do we crave for the conversion of our relatives, spouse or friends?

• Pro 15:28 -> “The heart of the righteous studies to answer, but the mouth of the wicked pours out evil things.”.

Certainly, it is important to evangelize. Nevertheless, we need to be prepared so that we can use ken rightly and be ready to explain the reason of our hope in Jesus:

• 1Pe 3:15 -> “but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and be ready always to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason of the hope in you, with meekness and fear;”.
• Pro 15:2 -> “The tongue of the wise uses knowledge rightly, but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.”.

Until to pray our make a vote to the Creator, we need to be careful:

• Ecc 5:2 -> “Do not be rash with your mouth, and do not let your heart be hasty to say a word before God. For God is in Heaven, and you are on earth; therefore let your words be few.”.
• Ecc 5:6 -> “Do not allow your mouth to cause your flesh to sin; do not say before the angel that it was an error. Why should God be angry at your voice and destroy the work of your hands?”.

Therefore, we need to follow this piece of advice:

• Pro 16:23 -> “The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.”.

But, above all, we need to evangelize for the right reason, that is to say, to have people through whom we can have communion with Jesus:

• 1Jn 1:3 -> “that which we have seen and heard we declare unto you, so that you also may have fellowship with us. And truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”.

So, it comes the question: do we really love (with Jesus’ love, at the same way He loves them) our relatives, spouse and friends? Or we only wish their conversion for convenience, so that we can get free of all upbraiding, persecution and disturbance? The true evangelism consists on show Christ amidst berating, ordeals, etc., and this for His love and the love of those around us, so that can see that Jesus is real and much better than any pleasure that this world offers us.

So, have a good day taming your mouth with Jesus’ teachings and love for those around you for whom Jesus died.
