Did you already fall sick for love? Or do you know someone who did?

In the beginning of my walking with Christ, I heard a brother in Christ telling: “Yesterday, I lost sleep because I was able to buy my so desired car. Today, I waked up thinking: and when someone convert to Christ? Do we have so joy to the point of losing the sleep?”.

In the Holy Scripture we read about two cases of falling sick for love:

1 – Shulamite:
• Son 2:5 -> “Feed me with raisin cakes, comfort me with apples, for I am sick with love.”.
And Shulamite fell sick for love in other occasion too:

• Son 5:8 -> “I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, if you find my Beloved, what do you tell Him? That I am sick with love.”.

2 – Amnon:

• 2Sa 13:2 -> “And Amnon was so troubled that he fell sick for his sister Tamar, for she was a virgin. And Amnon thought it hard for him to do anything to her.”.

And what about us? By any chance did we fall sick for loving Jesus? If not, we are in worst situation than people in the Old Testament (who hadn’t the habitation of the Holy Spirit):

• Psa 42:1,2 -> “As the hart pants after the water brooks, so my soul pants after You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; when shall I come and appear before God?”.
• Psa 63:1-3 -> “O God, You are my God; I will seek You earnestly; my soul thirsts for You; my flesh longs for You, as in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; so I have seen You in the holy place, seeing Your power and Your glory. Because Your loving-kindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You.”.
• Psa 63:8 -> “My soul follows hard after You; Your right hand upholds me.”.
• Isa 26:8,9 -> “Yea, in the way of Your judgments, O Jehovah, we awaited You; for Your name and for Your memory is the desire of our soul. With my soul I desired You in the night; yea, with my spirit within me I will seek You early; for when Your judgments are in the earth, the people of the world learn righteousness.”.
• Php 1:23 -> “For I am pressed together by the two: having a desire to depart and to be with Christ, which is far better.”.
• Psa 119:131 -> “I opened my mouth and panted; for I longed for Your Commandments.”.

So, have a lovely day being filled with Jesus’ love for Himself and for His people and Word.
