Was it evil when God drowned everyone on Earth including children and burned Sodom alive including children, "making them an example"?

2 Peter 2:4-6 (NKJV)
4 For if God did not spare the angels who sinned, but cast them down to hell and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved for judgment; 5 and did not spare the ancient world, but saved Noah, one of eight people, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood on the world of the ungodly; 6 and turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah into ashes, condemned them to destruction, making them an example to those who afterward would live ungodly;
Im beginning to think this is all a set up… so much friggin’ nonsense on this forum.

Still dodging I see. No surprise there.

Rev 20:10 And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Rev 20:15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Verse 15 doesn't say anyone will be "tormented day and night for ever and ever." does it? Only verse 10 says that and it says it only for the beast, FP and Devil. No one else is said to be tormented forever.
You are tryingt o change verse 15 so it says, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever."
But the verse does not say that. Here is an example.
If I made a lake of fire and cast a piece of paper and a freshly cut 500 foot tall tree in the fire at same time, will they burn for same amount of time or does one burn up very fast and other more slowly?
Let me ask you this, in view of what you've posted here ^ .

Do you believe it's not "evil" for "the beast [a person]" and "the false prophet [a person]" to be "*tormented [G928] unto the ages of the ages,"

... but that it WOULD BE "evil" for any OTHER people to be?? [keeping in mind what Matt25:41 says (pertaining to "people") about "HAVING BEEN PREPARED FOR THE DEVIL" which doesn't happen till the GWTj point]

And do you believe that it's not "evil" if the others who will be "cast into" only experience "torment" for, say, 3.5 seconds, before they then will "have no rest day or night" ...(same "day and night" referred to in 20:10)??

[*recall, under the word "tormented [G928]" - "4. universally, to vex with grievous pains (of body or mind)"--This, to me, shows the PURPOSE OF "death and hell/hades DELIVERED UP the DEAD"... meaning, "the lake of fire" FOLLOWS those... and in at least one verse says that those who will be "cast into" will "have no rest day or night"--why is that?? if they're "annihilated"...]

That is not the same as eternal torment— are you for real?
Have you ever read the Bible?
Revelation 20:10 (NKJV)
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

There are plenty of bible believing Christians who do not believe in the pagan myth of eternal torment— in fact in the beginning of this forum we outnumbered you guys.
Are you JW?

Astounding. Simply astounding. CV5 gave me a red X when ALL that I quoted was Scripture.
I'll tell you what. Should you rightly exegete these passages, I will give you a green checkmark! Deal? :D

The Rich Man and Lazarus
19“There was a certain rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and fared sumptuously every day. 20But there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, full of sores, who was laid at his gate, 21desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table. Moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. 23And being in torments (G931) in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

24“Then he cried and said, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented (g3600) in this flame (G5395) .’ 25But Abraham said, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things; but now he is comforted and you are tormented (G3600). 26And besides all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed, so that those who want to pass from here to you cannot, nor can those from there pass to us.’

27“Then he said, ‘I beg you therefore, father, that you would send him to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers, that he may testify to them, lest they also come to this place of torment (G931).’ 29Abraham said to him, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.’ 30And he said, ‘No, father Abraham; but if one goes to them from the dead (g3498 nekros), they will repent.’ 31But he said to him, ‘If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded though one rise from the dead.’ ”

Laura798.....you have been here only since June 6, 2020 with only 448 posts. How in the world can you say:

"in fact in the beginning of this forum we outnumbered you guys"??

Have you been banned and now recently returned under a new I.D.? Asking for a friend.....the moderator.

So the `judgment` of God is no pain, or suffering or consequences for these so-called dead ones?
Marilyn, the consequence is they do not receive eternal life with God in the new heaven and new earth! If you couldve won a billion dollars and lived in any house you wanted anywhere you wanted with a husband family and friends who loved you perfectly and you were guaranteed never to get sick or grow old— you seriously would not see that as a bad thing if you couldve had it but simply for lack of not believing it was all yours?😮

You didn't get the definition correct so let me assist you:

Psa 145:20 The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy.

H8045
שׁמד
shâmad
BDB Definition:
1) to destroy, exterminate, be destroyed, be exterminated
1a) (Niphal)
1a1) to be annihilated, be exterminated
1a2) to be destroyed, be devastated
1b) (Hiphil)
1b1) to annihilate, exterminate
1b2) to destroy

Part of Speech: verb
A Related Word by BDB/Strong’s Number: a primitive root
Same Word by TWOT Number: 2406

It is written in Hiphil tense so the correct meaning is, " to annihilate, exterminate, to destroy"

So we can see it IS annihilation.
You seem to have missed out the first word from the Strong`s - to DESOLATE!

All the smart ones dropped off— its like hammering a toothpick into an oak tree trying to explain things as simple as the word death. 🤪
Why do JW's try to rewrite nearly every verse in the Bible? Seems Satanic to me.

The consequence was for people wanting their OWN WAY. And that is what God will give them, forever, apart from everyone else.

Do you believe it's not "evil" for "the beast [a person]" and "the false prophet [a person]" to be "*tormented [G928] unto the ages of the ages,"
What I think is "evil" is to change "forever and ever" to "ages of ages" which is a terrible translation given by someone who is not a translator and not fluent in Greek.

The ten kingdomed empire located within 7 mountains is not a person BTW unless you think countries/governments like the USA and China and the UK are three people.

And do you believe that it's not "evil" if the others who will be "cast into" only experience "torment" for, say, 3.5 seconds, before they then will "have no rest day or night" ...(same "day and night" referred to in 20:10)??
Torturing someone literally forever is evil because it's too much punishment for the crimes/sins. A short time of torture/torment with death afterward is not evil.

Quote the full definition. I cannot trust you to post anything accurately from a dictionary/concordance.

and in at least one verse says that those who will be "cast into" will "have no rest day or night"--why is that?? if they're "annihilated"...]
That's not what it says. It says those who take the mark of beast will have no rest day or night. That applies to the great tribulation when they get the mark. It is not what happens to those in lake of fire because will die and burn up into nothing according to scripture.

Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.

Two things are mentioned in verse 11. The first part is related to previous verse and is discussing the wrath of God (which happens at the 7th trump when tribulation is over) and how it affects the unsaved then it goes backwards in chronology to speak about how they would get the mark and worship the beast which is a reference to great tribulation which happens before wrath of God. Yes, it's an odd way of discussing things out of chronological order but it's very normal for the book of Revelation.

You seem to have missed out the first word from the Strong`s - to DESOLATE!
So you refuse to accept that the word means "to annihilate, exterminate, to destroy"

Sure, ignore written by scholars in the language and just make up your own definition. I'm sure that will work out well.

Everything in the bible and by the language scholars supports Annihilation. Eternal torture was man made to scare people into church and to tithe money so some church leaders could be filthy rich.
