It is indeed apostasy! The book of Hebrews was written as a case for Christ.

The 1st century Jews that had converted to Christianity were facing pressure from the Judaists in their faith in Christ.

Some began turning from the faith and began going back to temple worship, thereby denying Christ and putting to shame His work on the Cross for us.

This is "the willful sin" the author is speaking of. They are willfully turning from Christ therefore putting Christ to shame.

It's plain to see in that the verse says, "after that we have received the knowledge of the truth."

"There remains no more sacrifice for sins" is saying that they have turned from the only source of forgiveness, and there is no other way to receive forgiveness. The author is telling them they have fallen from grace and have lost salvation!
I agree...

But I'd say it as a return to the sacrificial system of worship...it just sounds better.

we are saved through faith but true saving faith that lasts until the end produces fruit for repentance
But we are given eternal life the moment we believe and are given the seal of the spirit until that day of redemption
I agree it produces fruit if we stay steady. But we can never earn salvation by producing fruit. Fruit is a result I f being saved and walking in the spirit not a payment for salvation. I pray you see the difference

Makes me think the 5 foolish virgins, Matt 25 😂
The gospel is not only about going to heaven when we die. It is the gospel of the Kingdom. It is possible to be born again and going to heaven yet miss out on entering God's kingdom. This may seem odd, but it can be explained. I may have to post something to explain it.

i'm not sure i quite agree with your interpretation, but it is good to hear how you interpret it! :) i'm not sure it is quite biblical though
Just be a Berean (Acts 17:10-11) and look up the verses.

Here is an example tho this man continued in his sins he was saved by grace.

1 Cor 5:5 It is actually reported that there is immorality among you, and of a kind that is not found even among pagans; for a man is living with his father’s wife. 2 And you are arrogant! Ought you not rather to mourn? Let him who has done this be removed from among you.

3 For though absent in body I am present in spirit, and as if present, I have already pronounced judgment 4 in the name of the Lord Jesus on the man who has done such a thing. When you are assembled, and my spirit is present, with the power of our Lord Jesus, 5 you are to deliver this man to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus
Don't it ever raise a red flag with you that not one time in all the bible
did Jesus ever state that anyone was ever saved by grace?
Especially since He is the Word? Especially when He stated that
you had to be born of water and Spirit to enter into the Kingdom of God?

I could understand if people were saying that you are saved by your faith
for Jesus did actually say "your faith has saved you". But never saved by grace.

The fact that the statements above are written by a Christian astounds me. Do you realize our Father's GRACE in sending His only begotten Son to die for the world's sins? Do you realize that Jesus and the Father are One?

It astounds me that the Jews and then the Christians believe that
if you are not one of them, there is no possible way that the living God
can reveal Himself to you.

In fact there is a story about a woman during the famine of Elijah that Jesus told
go look it up and read it. You might be surprised by it.

I'm not sure what you believe, so if you'd like to reveal this bit of information, feel free. If you don't want to, that's okay, too.

I believe everything that Jesus says to me.
I never ask Him why and if He wants me to know anything
He will tell me. I just obey all that He instructs me to do
no questions asked. And I wait for Him night and day to call my name. Simple as that.

The question is the question above in the title. Or is it about apostasy?
First thing is what is the context of the chapter?

Animal sacrifice is the subject.

Who is being addressed? The Hebrews... who were under the OT system of service to God and relying on animal sacrifice in their system.

This system did not please God because people thought the sacrifice was making them right with God.. when it wasn't. It was a shadow of Christ who was to come.

Under service to Christ.. there is no animal sacrifice (no longer a sacrifice for sins)

So now the Hebrews were under service to Christ in the New testament system of faith.

If they then sin willfully. . They cant use the OT system of sacrificing to please God. Christ is the ultimate lamb.

God still takes care of sin on our lives.. (fiery expectation). But Jesus has paid the ultimate price and a fiery hell is not the result for a Christian.

So this is not about some unforgivable will sin.. but the inadequacy of the Old Testament system in having been rendered obsolete in service to Jesus

You mention Jesus in another thread; you claim that He speaks to you and that you follow Him. Despite this, you claim that you are not a Christian. Please provide an explanation. Thank you.

The reason why you are saying that is because you have not taken all the word of God has said about the word "Grace"

Jesus did not use the word grace Himself in His earthly ministry. Only two verses reference this word in the Four Gospels, and neither of the usages was by Jesus. Luke tells us the grace of God was on Jesus as a child. John taught: “ For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” (John 1:17, NKJV). Therefore, our understanding of the word grace comes from others.

Which Paul received HIS revelation from Jesus Christ.

God's grace has been seen time and time again in the Old Testament and Amplified by the vicarious death of Jesus on the Cross.

the saving Grace speaks to what one did not do to get but what God did for those who do not deserve it.

Sure He did, He said it through the Apostle Paul.

Bingo! This is a Jewish book written to the Hebrews that are scattered abroad, which I believe will be applied during the time of Jacob's Trouble. Peter, James, and John are connected with the second coming of Jesus Christ.
