Are you nonchalant or care you about people’s suffering?

• Zephaniah 1:10,11 -> “And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD, that there shall be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, and an howling from the second, and a great crashing from the hills. Howl, ye inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the merchant people are cut down; all they that bear silver are cut off.”.

Note that the Creator stirred up the people of Maktesh to howl in virtue of the ruin of the merchant and wealth people. For this we can learn that the focus of that people were money, and not human beings.

Unfortunately, most of the people like to settle on their lees:

• Zephaniah 1:12 -> “And it shall come to pass at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with candles, and punish the men that are settled on their lees: that say in their heart, The LORD will not do good, neither will he do evil.”.

They yearn for being at ease, without nothing to disturb their carnal delights, what displease the Creator very much:

• Am 6:1,3-6 -> “Woe to them that are at ease in Zion, and trust in the mountain of Samaria, which are named chief of the nations, to whom the house of Israel came! Ye that put far away the evil day, and cause the seat of violence to come near; that lie upon beds of ivory, and stretch themselves upon their couches, and eat the lambs out of the flock, and the calves out of the midst of the stall; that chant to the sound of the viol, and invent to themselves instruments of musick, like David; That drink wine in bowls, and anoint themselves with the chief ointments: but they are not grieved for the affliction of Joseph.
• Luke 16:19 -> “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:”.
• 1 Thessalonians 5:3 -> “For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.”.
• Zechariah 1:11,12,14,15 -> “And they answered the angel of the LORD that stood among the myrtle trees, and said, We have walked to and fro through the earth, and, behold, all the earth sitteth still, and is at rest. Then the angel of the LORD answered and said, O LORD of hosts, how long wilt thou not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which thou hast had indignation these threescore and ten years? ... Thus saith the LORD of hosts; I am jealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with a great jealousy. And I am very sore displeased with the heathen that are at ease: for I was but a little displeased, and they helped forward the affliction.”

To this kind of people, the sentence will be similar to Israel’s people in the time of Zephaniah:

• Zeph 1:13 -> “Therefore their goods shall become a booty, and their houses a desolation: they shall also build houses, but not inhabit them; and they shall plant vineyards, but not drink the wine thereof.”.

So, have a miraculous day living by faith (Hab 2:4; Rom 1:17; Gal 3:11; Heb 10:38), allowing Jesus to love your neighbor through you instead of acommodate in your comfort zone (see John 3:8)
