“He said unto him, What is written in the law? how readest thou?

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

And he said unto him, Thou hast answered right: this do, and thou shalt live.

But he, willing to justify himself, said unto Jesus, And who is my neighbour? And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.

And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.

But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?

And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭10:26-37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Universal words for every christian. I would like to mention the two coins the Samaritan gave the innkeeper were denarii. Those silver coins were a day's wages for a common laborer and a roman foot soldier. So, a day to the Lord is as a thousand years. two days wages equals 2000 years and when He returns he will pay you whatever else you are owed-----rewards.

Amen , his word is always his divine direction plus reward for obedience or consequence for transgression

I think when we start letting his word become how we think it helps us see our true and infallible inner compass. Sort of by accepting the gospel into our minds and hearts allowing it to be The word of our God it’s able to change this

“For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭7:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

our deeds seem to always flow from whatever faith or belief is in us. And so my belief is that Christs teachings are able to renew the issue in our minds and hearts .

It makes sense to me why hearing and believing the gospel can change what we think and how we act results from that change

“And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

it takes words to convey knowledge so the word of Christ is the true knowledge of God that we need to let renew our thinking and ideologies that the world constantly tries to corrupt d draw into doubt

if we hear and believe Jesus and let his word become our ways of life we’ve become his disciples and his brethren and family
