We take things literally because there is every reason to and no reason not to. Once we start spiritualizing and figuratizing everything, all we are left with is Swiss cheese that one can spin in any direction one wants. Absolute Truth is lost forever. This is the agenda of the Evil One. I like to be agreeable with people, but I must tell the truth.
Agenda of the evil one? To correctly interpret scripture it is vital to understand the difference between literal and figurative language- wisdom, discernment and understanding does not equate to swiss cheese.

Is my "reasoning" not conductive to walking with the Lord, or not conductive to agreeing to what David has demanded I believe?
Not conducive to understanding His Second Coming because you choose to reject clear "it is written" words from the LORD.

Your response is just to say - "that's what David believes".

Also i do not demand anything from you - God gives the commandments for us to follow.

God spoke to Adam in the Garden and satan altered God's words. Which Eve followed resulting in Sin/Death and here we are today quickly approaching the revealing of the wicked one.

As a witness to the Truth, i will always point to Deut 4:1-2 , Proverbs 30:5-6 , Revelation 22:18-19

i, and all who come under this Protective Shield of not adding or taking away from God's words find Rest and Safety.

Are you the only witness to truth, David, or are there more of you?

If there are more, by chance do they agree with you?

Again, this is not about agreeing with me but turning our hearts over to Christ as LORD and dare not 'adding to or taking away' from His words.

The sooner you embrace His Love in that commandment, the faster you will experience the Joy of letting go.

And this is something very Special between you and the LORD who loves you greatly - amen.

i gotta go now - PEACE

I knew all who don't agree with David are doing something wrong!

We must all let our cups be filled and running over. It is so good that we be brothers and sisters. Let not small things spoil our vineyard. Paul would offer you a little wine. They will all come around in time and join the Oyster Band. You'll see.

See Zechariah 14 - it mirrors this verse— to be taken is a bad thing—- not a good thing…
Re tead it
41 Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
Jesus said to watch for the "one taken"...."at his coming"
All the examples of" taken / left"
Are peacetime and normal life.

So it is not the second coming on horses nor is it an imaginary "taken to a bad place".

Further, they are all comrades.
Working, fellowshipping and in the same bed (in one example)

They happen simultaneously— its called 2nd coming for a reason— Christ new the false doctrine was going to happen ahead of time!

If Santa comes and drops off presents and eats his cookies he stills only came one time no matter what he did while he was there.
Rev 14

Pretty much puts an end to anything but a pretrib rapture.

But since someone convinced you there is no rapture why are you in this room?????

Interesting and something to think about.

Could this be illustrating how swiftly and unexpectedly for some the end will come?

I mean if you read the verses directly before those, that seems to be what it is explaining...IMHO

36 But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.

37 But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

38 For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark,

39 And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

40 Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.

Then directly before that it is talking about the complete end of time.
Yes
Jesus framed it preflood....pretrib.

Onetaken/ left
Preflood
Pretrib
Watch and be ready.

Pretrib rapture

It is definitely a complete surprise.
