Birthday approaching, Christmas and New Years.
Counting the days, and wondering what lies in store.

37th year coming along, coming strong.
Will next year be better than this one?

What have I accomplished? Has my life mattered?
Will unemployment be my curse? Till the day I die?

Here I sit, musing on another year come and gone.
I wonder if I will be blessed, or is it another year at war?
Who can be happy? While the heart aches for a family.

Here I sit, musing on another year come and gone.
When I'm grey and old, many years from now.
Will my life have mattered? Will I have friends & family?

Here I sit, musing on another year come and gone.
Will my Labour matter, or do I Labour in vain?
Will generations remember me? Or leave me in a paupers grave?

Here I sit, musing on another year come and gone.
Remembering that when the world forgets me, Jesus remembers me.
Remembering that when death comes, I shall inherit freedom.
Remembering when the world hates me, Jesus Loves me.
