Ok this thread is for singles to help each other out with their own single life hacks.

And I do not mean find someone else to do all the dirty work for you!

We all need to take a responsiblity for our own lives and happiness. So start today.

One of mine that I was working on was having a plan...since a lot of my friends are now only on mobile not landlines its getting expensive to call them, so I figured...isnt it cheaper to use whats app to txt and make calls?
Downloaded the app got rid of FB messenger since it got full of random messages not even meant for me and now can do calls and chats for free. But I figured maybe worth getting a plan instead of using prepay for mobile.

Another is, if its expensive for postage (always going up) get in early to buy prepaid envelopes like a whole stack, and make some self addressed so people can write back to you and they dont have to pay.

Separate your work life from your personal life by using a separate email address for them and then make folders so that you arent overwhelmd with emails. Use filters.
Be very choosy who you keep as contacts. You dont have to put up with spam. You dont have to keep every contact you have ever messaged. And do not fwd on chain messages. People will hate you if you do this.

Always have a backup of mission-critical equipment. Backup vehicle, backup phone, backup laptop, backup "anything that brings life to a screeching halt if it stops working." You don't have a spouse so you can't borrow their stuff.

I love the outdoors and spend time hiking and sleeping in them. So one simple thing that comes in handy out in them is to take a baggie of cotton balls and a small jar or baggie of petroleum jelly. Rub the cotton ball in the petroleum jelly and you have one great piece of tinder that goes up fast with a match or preferred firestarter. They also both come in handy for other usages, I tend to use the petroleum jelly more as I live in the dry climate of Colorado and do my outdoors in the mountains. So hands and lips get chapped easily at altitude and the dryness. So anyway have just found that cotton balls and petroleum jelly is a great hack for spending time in the outdoors.

Keep a diary

have a blank notebook handy to write down thoughts and things so you dont forget.
Even the act of writing helps organise your thoughts.
Sometimes you need to express your emotions in a safe way. Use words or draw pictures instead of letting them loose on others, nobody else has to see them unless you choose to share them.

Take the time to reflect and gain insight by writing.

When you pray, write down scriptures to help you memorise them.

Who knows, one day you may have a book to publish of all the things life has taught you.

I absolutely believe God wants us to have the desires of our heart. So if someone was serious about finding their spouse from heaven, I would pray Mk 11:23-24 =
'he who will not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he confesses shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.'

This has worked for healing miracles and other things, so (IF INTERESTED, IF NOT IGNORE) believe for it and confess it and receive. Wouldn't hurt to recite this petition with faith a few times a day as 'God watches over His word to perform it'😃😁😆❣

That's kind of hilarious, but having safety nets is very nice.

I do this too, write EVERYTHING. Sometimes if my notebook isn't right there i use anything i find, scrap paper or even my arm; gets messy. And I do like to look back months or years later and see and remember and realize the differences between time.

if you are technologically inclined you could do a blog but somtimes technology can let you down esp if you forget your password etc, the site crashes etc.

The single hack for that is save your passwords by writing them down in a separate notebook/diary and keep somewhere safe. That save to computer function doesnt always work!

My brain then can be better utilised for dreaming and thinking about God than remembering passwords lol

I actually am not technologically inclined even though i should be, I dislike it greatly and it stresses me out but it seems to be the way you have to do almost EVERYTHING. I'm actually that very strange person who is constantly dreaming about a piece of land in the mountains somewhere and I study different types of soil to know how and where i can get the most and best clay and how to use it to build and make bricks as well as other materials. I was happiest when I lived in a teepee my uncle made for me far away from most people and grew and hunted my food. I hope to go back to that someday, soonish would be nice. I have really only started learning how to interact with many people in the last few years. I grew up without anyone really caring for me but with a lot of animals so i've always preferred them. I guess i'm becoming domesticated though mostly because I think the Lord tells me to learn to be with people and love them even with their faults. I hope he sends me back where I want to be someday though.

wow I grew up when computers were becoming the next BIG thing and it was constantly said that we all had to be on the 'information highway' that books would become obsolete and we all had to be digitally literate and everyone would make a heap of money in IT and e-commerce etc.

And yes people now do all that now although in my country its always ten year behind say places like Japan where robots have now replaced humans.

Although I dont know how far it will go where we'll just outsource everything. Hence life hacks.

Although personally I wouldnt hack into someone elses computer! I think depnding on how savvy you are, tech can simplify life or it can complicate things. I just think of how automated everything is now compared to what it used to be when you copied everything out by hand.

One thing I have learned is never buy an ink jet printer. If you are going to buy one, go for laser. Ink Jets are just not worth it. expensive and ink always drying up. Though I would rather do graphic art by hand than do it all on computer.

I have a teepee in my library. Its got cushions and its for children to read books. My rule is only 2 people max in there and they have to be reading a book. The children love the teepee. Its a place where they can have a bit of peace and quiet.

I dont have much to do with valentines day I would have thought the singles would be the matchmakers to all the couples or thy would be arranging online things.

I do recall a guy who wrote that he went to Valentines restaurant (they no longer in businsess) alone as he was going to all the restaurants and eateries over the course of a year and writing them for the newspaper.
And I said what, you went to Valentines restaurant ALONE?! It made a very funny article though.

btw Mr Braunias is partnered with children. But I did kind of wonder why he didnt take the family.

When IBM pioneered the PC (personal computer) I dont know if they ever envisaged the day when EVERYONE would have one.

But certainly life is easier in many respects when you do have a PC as opposed you have to share one with someone else, go to an internet cafe (remember those?) or a computer lab or have to process everything by hand.

Though there are still lots of jobs where things havent been taken over by techno robots.

Im just thinking if eventually all our jobs disappear thanks to technology that just means more leisure time for us. Horror of Horrors what will we DO?!

I'm thinking maybe God has planned it this way, so we wont be slaves anymore and then we will all have our rest that He promised...and enjoy life, free from burdens.

We'll also have wheels on our feet (thanks roller skates!) and a personal set of wings (I have yet to see this invention) so that we can fly anywhere we want.

Pretty lofty dreamin' there Lanolin. Let's face it, computers have only given us 10,000 ways of looking at quarterly financials coming to the same conclusion. I'll go with the roller skates instead.

Consider a pet.

Don't let the "oh but it's a pale substitute" keep you from it if you like animals. It can take the edge off loneliness, as I've been finding out for the last 4 months.

It sort of found me after my car broke down on a road trip in a hotel parking lot, so I went with it. I was waiting for the "moment" to have a pet but I can't see how it would have been much more obvious frankly.

I detest and hate spreadsheets.

Tell that to my DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) and it will chuckle at you, or I can even make it scoff at you.
