Jesus founded His church. You profess that there are multiple 'churches'??????????????? And they all seem to be opposed to one another in terms of doctrine and teaching. And Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit to lead His Church to all truth.

So, I'm puzzled why you refer to multiple churches. Who founded the churches you refer to?
Of course humans take what God has given and muddle it. There is but one church which are those that belong to Christ. There are however many professing churches that are anything but.

Wow, the posters on this thread show so much disdain for the Church. Surely you are aware that it was Jesus, Himself, who founded His Church and He promised to be with it until the end of time. In fact, the New Testament tells us that it is the Church that is the pillar and foundation of all truth. So, if you are disdaining Jesus Church, then you are disdaining Jesus and Scripture.

To me, the cartoon represents church's that have moved from a solid foundation toward a liberal/political foundation, a foundation based neither on Jesus nor Scripture.

But, make no mistake, Jesus founded His Church and promised to be with it til the end of time.
“Wow, the posters on this thread show so much disdain for the Church. Surely you are aware that it was Jesus, Himself, who founded His Church and He promised to be with it until the end of time.”

“Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I think they are saying there’s that church Who follows Christ and his doctrine and. NOw days there are many denominations who don’t agree with christs doctrine but call themselves “Christian church “ it’s a result of this

“For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:3-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s always a new “ movement “ in the world of Christianity,a new “revolutionary
Gospel “ being found in a book for only 29.95 on Amazon .

A brand new way to “ understand the real gospel “ is always being promoted and denominations being created “ deviations “ “ divisions “ all claiming to be “the real church “ from Mormons to Catholics to Protestants to Baptist’s to the “non denominational , denominations “

It’s repeated generation after generation from so called “hyper grace “ to so called “ legalism “ both issues the apostles were teaching about in thier own time. Denominations , divisions and strifes among the church trying to hold it together but we’re not doing a great job now days

what I’m saying is everyone always believes thier own chosen denominational beliefs are the right ones do “the real church “ is thier own.

Someone asked what was the meaning of this picture so I thought I would share what it means to me.
Looks like church bashing has become popular recently. I'm sure the Muslims will love that picture. Now while it is true that many churches are not preaching the full and true Gospel, there are probably others one will never hear about who do preach the Gospel and hold to sound Bible doctrine.

The problem is that there is no "fixing" the issues that need to be fixed (since churches shy away from acknowledging that they have issues). And Scripture does not have the same authority as it once did. In the end, every Christian should focus on the proper functioning of his or her own local church. We cannot address the problems of Christendom at large.

Anen all we can really change is what we ourselves do and don’t do moving forward. Our own personal Life no matter what denomination or building we call “church “

our own personal life is how we worship God we live in and according to the spirit of the gospel and glorify and spread his name on earth.

We treat others as Christ would have us treat them , we don’t leave the man laying on the side of the road , we act like the Good Samaritan and help when needed our fellow
Man and we do it in thanks and to glorify Jesus name

I think a lot of the churches today are out of touch with their audience and assume everyone has a general knowledge of the bible.
I hear you, but if "church leadership" doesn't even understand the Gospel, they certainly cannot be teaching it themselves. My last "pastor" whose church I attended for seven . . . gulp . . . months, didn't even mention the name Jesus from the Pulpit. So, I'm not sure that "they" believe that we have general knowledge of the Bible. In my personal estimation, which is based upon my lifetime of attending "church," everyone (that I saw) was blindly taking part simply in something that they believed was correct. However, if cornered and questioned, they wouldn't be able to explain why they believe what it is that they believed. For example, if I were to have asked someone to EXPLAIN the Gospel (people in church never talk about what the Gospel actually is), they would stumble over their own lips. I have NEVER had anyone at church ever ask me if I knew what the Gospel was and if I could explain it. No one ever explained it to me except in the form of chapter titles ("Why, it's the Good News of Jesus Christ . . . yeah! That's what the Gospel is!") Pft.

Collectively, this group of people on CC are the most informed "Christians" I know. All others? Sheeples. Mere Sheeples.

Absolutely. Today's "church leaders" are the future reflection of the Sadducees, Pharisees, and teachers of the old law. When reading of them in the New Testament, we should be thinking our "church leadership" as it is right bloody now.

I have seen many threads pointing to the church as dysfunctional, rude, and unscriptural. If we can see it what do you think the onlookers see?
We need to be bold in the faith willing to be rebuked for our convictions. Judgement begins in the house of the Lord.
If our hearts are true to the Lord then what have we to fear?
Bold yet humble in our asking of why is this or that. If we should stand corrected then praise God for we have gained more understanding of the truth.
If we are heard by the leadership and they stand corrected and repent then we know that that body truly wants God's will to be done.
If they give no sound doctrine or scriptures to your claim in question ........then pray the Lord for discernment.
But what it takes and will always take is a bold stand for the Lord.
Nobody likes confrontation but God hates a murmurer.

Outstanding post. I could actually get somewhere in this world if we were working together. But one man on his own in the middle of a church, as a guest . . . now that get's interesting.

On one occasion, I made it known that I didn't appreciate how teenage girls that were dressed exactly like strippers (yes, I once frequented them), were showing their flesh in the skimpiest of summer clothing, as they served the bread and juice for communion! It was shocking how attractive they were . . . a man's dream!

After the service, when I first suggested this issue to a member, he thought I was being funny. But, he soon noticed that he was the only one smiling. I repeated myself, which was that perhaps everyone was so engrossed with the half-naked girls, perhaps explaining why I stood in his church for twenty minutes before he (the first and only person) recognized me and decided to say hello. Again, I was a first-time guest.

He took two short steps, got about four inches away from my face, put his fingers in my chest and began to quietly let me have it (as he looked up at me). Very quietly, I told him, "You need to back up." He said, "What?" I said, "You need to take your fingers out of my chest and back up right now."

Years ago I stated that I may very well be killed by said "christians" in today's modern "system." I'm still willing to do just that for the simple name of Jesus. Oddly, no one has ever wanted to join me.

Our church is in a very deep, deep sleep . . . and they don't even know it. The "church" system THINKS it knows what it's doing. They THINK they they're awake and making their own logical decisions and conclusions . . . but they're in a deep, deep sleep.

And while the below passages are meant for the Jews, these passages 100% apply to the "modern-day" church exactly as it is.

Romans 11:7-11 NLT - "So this is the situation: Most of the people of Israel have not found the favor of God they are looking for so earnestly. A few have--the ones God has chosen--but the hearts of the rest were hardened. As the Scriptures say, "God has put them into a deep sleep. To this day he has shut their eyes so they do not see, and closed their ears so they do not hear." Likewise, David said, "Let their bountiful table become a snare, a trap that makes them think all is well. Let their blessings cause them to stumble, and let them get what they deserve. Let their eyes go blind so they cannot see, and let their backs be bent forever." Did God's people stumble and fall beyond recovery? Of course not! They were disobedient, so God made salvation available to the Gentiles. But he wanted his own people to become jealous and claim it for themselves."

Is anyone willing to die tonight, right now, for Christ and His name? I am 100% ready.

Jesus did not found the additions to church doctrine that is in our organized church today. Jesus founded the church on the principles set by the Father, principles that God did not change but fulfilled.

These principles are clearly stated in the first five books of scripture. Christ clearly points out how he did not change them but fulfilled them, and clearly states all about the fulfillment.

The church only needs scripture and faith in scripture.

Reminding ourselves that it is by transformation not conformaty that we are born again.
Let us never assume that we that we should do the work of the Holy Spirit. This is a grave error.
I'm sure that john the baptist was the talk of family picnics.... 😂.
The issues of the heart can only be corrected by conviction of the truth and only by one that seeks to follow the truth.
If we judge by what our eye sees and our ears hear we become legalist which has no place in the house of God.
But if we walk in the light as he is in the light then we have fellowship with one another.
There will be many distractions with in the church but be careful to consider are they distractions of the truth or distractions of our weaknesses?

For the serpent entered the garden clothed in beautiful apparel but his venom was not less poisoness.

A bruised reed shall not the Lord break.

A fragile balance that only the Holy Spirit can bring about.

Jesus sat at the table of sinners as well as the table of the of religious leaders of that day.
His actions and words brought about convictions but never condemnation. Again the work of the Holy Spirit.
Every christian must examine their own heart first....(judge not lest you be judged) is this the righteousness of God or of ones self?

I always saw in scripture where jesus made us to catch fish but he always cleaned and prepared them.😉😉

Church bashing was also popular in 1517 by a German priest and professor of theology named Martin Luther.

Are we talking about metaphorical bashing or actual bashing? Like a hammer, nail, into the door of the church?

Amen. Taking a stand can hurt but it is the only true thing to do. I took a stand and was forced or coerced to leave. I had no choice but to protect my family. One of the hardest things to do and filled with emotion I took my case to the leadership and I was blamed for division. My child was accused and seen as a threat with little facts and mostly assumptions. I defended him or in older terms his honor. To keep the peace and protect him, I chose to leave.

Could be a bullseye for birds flying over. Idk.

Isn't there a scripture speaking poorly about men having long hair?
