Every good leader must first learn how to be a good follower. Before we can lead as men, we must first learn to follow the will of God. Seeking God’s wisdom in all areas of life takes time and great dedication. We practice self-control within all areas of our life. Be filled with the Holy Spirit verses the things of the world that only leaves us wanting more. It is in the living water that we thirst no longer. Our faith must be courageous and not without vision. Our will should align with the will of our Heavenly Father. Our vision will guide those beneath us, it gives others a sense of importance, a mission, and need for their participation.
A man defends the weak, the innocent, or those in trouble. This call to defend is urged on by our inner disgust with the wickedness of the world. We live with honor, Biblical honor, not the cultural opinion that changes like the seasons, but of sacred honor that God calls us to walk.
Our time alone should always be held in integrity, as spiritually, we understand we can never hide anything from God. We, as men, will never fight our battles alone. Spiritual warfare does not require us to be Rambo, a lone wolf. It requires a squad, platoon, battalion.
Acting in unison, equally yoked in both movement and thought. Giving the enemy no room to divide and conquer. We are encouraged and motivated by our respectful fear of our high ranking General. The Lord Most High above all things. This is the character of the Biblical man that we all should strive to imitate.
Discussion question:
1. Any questions, thoughts, or scriptures above you would like to meditate on?
2. In what ways can you improve in your walk with God? Choose today to implement those changes.
3. In what areas are we seeing the rising generations of men struggle in?
4. Why is learning to follow God so crucial to being a good leader?
Let us decide today to be spiritual leaders. Let us feel the Spirit of Isaiah 6 verse 8 Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” then the inspired Words in Joshua 24 verse 15 But if serving the Lord seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your ancestors served beyond the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”
When we hear the call of the High General, what should our response be? (In unison, say out loud) Here am I. Send Me! For me and my household, we will serve the Lord. Say it one more time. Here am I. Send me! For me and my household, we will serve the Lord.
