Trying to live, be a professional, a father and living with alcoholism. It’s been tough, especially with a very stressful job.

Hi, mkmrc51, welcome to Christian Chat. I used to drink an awful lot. One time I didn't sober up for two years. Though it seemed impossible to stop, I haven't got drunk since '89. All things are possible, if one only believes. Glad you've joined us!

Thank you so much! I have strong faith, pray like crazy and have basically put myself in gods hands. But I know that it takes two, and the alleviation of alcohol is based on my faith and staying strong. Like making this step, talking with you.

Thank you so much
You are welcome! The OP of that thread has just returned after a fairly lengthy absence, so hopefully it will become a little more active once again. Even as is, there is some great sharing and reading there on the perils we face as recovering/recovered addicts and alcoholics. I hope you benefit from reading some of them! :)

There are over 100 scriptures on encouragement. I read scriptures on encouragement and God's strength when I am overwhelmed. I also stay close to likeminded Christians who will encourage me in the Word; with the Word. Hello newcomers.

Glad you have joined the fellowship here at CC and you will definitely find some useful Threads to browse and chime in on. I look at alcohol as a false friend who while taking your mind off something, is doing much damage to your body, mind and spirit. Esp having any children it is wise to take care of ourselves now. God bless you and your family & take care🙏!

Let's take it to the Lord in prayer. This always helps. (y)

We love you, and Jesus loves you even more. Hold on just a little longer. We are almost home.

As Ob said, all things are possible with the Lord. Take this by faith, and stand on it.

So glad you came! (y)
