Rodriguez is an American singer-songwriter and are more popular in South Africa and Australia where he has a cult following.

When I was at university (before Google ) they said he pour some gasoline on him while he was on stage and set himself alight. We seriously thought he was dead. Sad how misinformation can become your truth if you buy into it.

They made a movie about it "Searching for Sugar man".

Ever wondered what led to the development of the first webcam? The story dates back to 1991 when researchers at Cambridge University got sick of having to leave their desks to get a cup of coffee.
They knew the feeling of finding an empty coffee pot and so invented the webcam, so they could see the status of the pot without walking to the kitchen. Necessity is truly the mother of invention!
Wow, gotta keep the coffee going, lol.

Anglerfish mate by the male fusing himself to the female. He's also much smaller than her.

Romantic huh? :ROFL::ROFL::ROFL:

Bonus: some female anglerfish have been found with more than one male attached. o_O

Back in the 1980's I was at a business meeting for high school graduates to meet people like JR Simplot.

He had one of the first digital cameras because he was looking for a way to destroy Kodak.
It was put inside an old WWII army flashlight case because they couldn't make anything for it cheaper and it needed the power of the batteries.

That was also because he had mostly bought out controlling interest in Micron Technology....yep, very same company as on the S&P.

Strange doings from a guy who made the Idaho Potato so famous.

Come on guys, wow me with some useless information. I'll start

The Unicorn is the official national animal of Scotland!

Baby elephants suck on their trunk for comfort.

M&M stands for Mars and Murrie (the 2 creators of the candy)
I didn't know that.

Why did God to that to the poor things?

Then again, why did He create cockroaches...

A cheatin' anglerfish! Nothing worse. All in all though, it's not a bad way to go.

This one I can kinda understand. Your children ARE actually maggots.
What happens when they enlist in the army though? Does the drill instructor call them humans?

So if the pot was empty they would remain at their desks... Instead of brewing more coffee? Really? They invented a webcam instead of just making another pot?

Yup, they're nerds.

Nah, it's 64.3% of statistics that are made up on the spot.

Also:

Before things like soap and shampoo became common, multiple cultures used fermented pee as a cleaning agent.

I can still sing songs from my 2nd and 3rd grade school plays (and most of the subsequent ones as well).

I'm sure I know lots of really stupid useless stuff. I just can't think of it right now.

The hymn All Hail to thee Immanuel ( had to look this up because I don't know that hymn either) was written by D. R. Van Sickle, a nonbeliever, who wrote the song to prove that one doesn’t have to be a Christian to write a Christian song. However, God’s great patience turned the tables on him. Years later, Van Sickle was sitting in a service where a choir sang his hymn. He came under conviction and gave his heart to Christ!

Our keyboards are inefficiently laid out; this was to limit typing speed in the days when they still used mechanical typewriters so that the typists didn't type so fast that the (whatever you call those arms that actually strike the letters; I'm too young to remember that) didn't have time to go back down before the next one came up and they jammed them up.

The only (current) denomination of dollar bill to not feature a US president on the front is the $10 bill.

I'm not happy with how that they jammed them up sentence flows, but it's too late to worry about it.
I wonder how many people think Alexander Hamilton was a president.

Howdy XmasBaby and welcome to the forum. You have the good fortune to stumble into the default chill place for people to hang out and chat on Christian Chat.

Have fun and enjoy the conversations here and there, help yourself to the soda, but stay away from the chocolate covered pistachios... They're MINE!
