email your rulers to buy Russian Oil. The Oil has nothing to do with the war. It is private companies that get paid.

Still living with my dad I fluctuate around being able to pay for my food, gasoline and bus tickets with my current pay-for-hour for private English lessons and even though I seldom find myself able to do so, I'm still happy knowing I can be of less financial burden to those I love.

If I recall Jesus looked after his mother even when he was away from Nazareth doing his ministry he was not just looking after only himself. He always had his Father as well and always depended on Him.

though this thread OP is about 'life style' not ministry.

When you are in ministry, nothing is going to stop Gods will being accomplished. Its not a 'lifestyle' as if the christian life is some sort of fashion statement or trendy uber status thing.
Right. Jesus didn't live at home. At least, not when He started the work He was sent to do. He traveled all over the place. I'm drawing a blank on any scriptures that say He looked after his mom. Can you share them with me?

I'm pretty sure you know by now that these threads create "rabbit trails". I've seen you go off on many a tangent, which seems to be okay with you until someone challenges one of your statements or thoughts. Just an observation. Maybe you haven't noticed the inconsistency?

And I agree. Going where Yahweh calls shouldn't be a trendy status thing. Don't think I insinuated or said anywhere that it was, so I'm not sure why this comment is directed at me. 🤔

The only verse I can think of is when Jesus, while dying on the cross, turned Mary over to the care of John.

And, yeah, I agree: it is a life style whether one is living in a mud hut or a mansion.

My grandson is a junior, dual enrolled in high school and tech school. He drives 11 miles to high school every morning at 7 AM. At noon he drives 21 miles to tech school campus. At 3:30 PM he drives 10 miles home. He mows two lawns every Saturday to buy gas and a little spending money. He drives a 1976 dodge pickup truck that he and his father rebuilt. It's paid for, and runs like a new truck. It gets about 15 mpg. As you can see, he doesn't have much left for spending money when gasoline is $2.25 per gallon. Today that price is $4.30 a gallon.

He doesn't ask for it, but I pay for his insurance.

I hope that the oil companies and the administration will stop and think about all the young people trying to become self sufficient and return to some type of reality.
I'm wondering. What does "the administration" have anything to do with gas prices?

It's indirect. But when gasoline goes up, everything goes up. Steak is so high, I buy a cheap round steak, tenderize it, and we eat that instead of a nicer cut of steak. It satisfies the beef urges and it is not bad if prepared well.

Not approving the Keystone pipeline. Regulations that make fracking hard to do.

The high oil prices may be what motivated Putin to attack when he did, partly at least. I read 40% of Russia's state revenues came from oil and gas a few years ago. Prices have gone way up since then. The war is expensive, but his oil and gas are high.

If Biden opened the pipeline and drove the price of oil down by doing so, that might put some pressure on Russian and help us regular Americans out a little, too. It might put some brakes on inflation.

Whenever prices get high, I make more of an effort to buy things on sale. Like, if I want beef one week but only chicken is on sale, I but chicken instead. That has worked for me and so I don't notice much of an increase in food prices. But, some things like rent and utilities we cannot control as much.

We moved from a big city area to a small town which is about three miles long and not very wide. So our gas usage is way down and with me being retired and only Tourist working 4 days a week about a mile from home we are doing o.k. Yes, we like it when it doesn't cost as much but we are doing o.k. and I am thankful we moved when we did and live where we are now.

Since my wife is retired and I only drive 4 miles to work, rising gas prices has not hit us hard. Inflation in general though which increases with rising gas prices is becoming more noticeable for us.

We just got back from our vacation in Florida and gas prices there really varied depending on what part of Florida we were in. This was the cheapest we found.

Thanks for visiting us. Much of our economy depends on tourism.

If you come down again, take a little time to visit the small businesses around your destination points.

We flew to Fort Lauderdale and drove through Hollywood, Miami and eventually down to the Keys and we stayed at a total of four different hotels/resorts. In the past we have stayed in Destin, Panama City, Clearwater and Fort Myers. 👍 We visited friends in Stuart Florida which is north of West Palm Beach. They are snowbirds there for three months out of the year.

I was driving through parts of the Southeast recently, and saw gas in the high 3.70's at Sam's Club about a week ago.
