Is it correct to confront someone?

• Pro 18:17 -> “He that is first in his own cause seemeth just; but his neighbour cometh and searcheth him.”.

Many times, we find people questioning the concepts and values of someone else. Many of them do this in order to show off his supposed abilities, knowledge, wisdom, etc. They desire exactly what Paul said:

• Gal 4:17 -> “They zealously affect you, but not well; yea, they would exclude you, that ye might affect them.”.

They crave for being famous at the expenses of others.

Although act at this way is malign, we ought to adopt the stance of Paul:

• Php 1:15-18-20 -> “Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: the one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: but the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice. for I know that through your prayers and the help of the Spirit of Jesus Christ this will turn out for my deliverance, as it is my eager expectation and hope that I will not be at all ashamed, but that with full courage now as always Christ will be honored in my body, whether by life or by death. ”.

That is to say, the problem isn’t the turpitude of people, but our lack of consecration to the Creator. If we accept the calling of Jesus and are happy in His presence (Ps 37:4) pursuant to His purport (Rom 8:28), everything (even the evil things) will contribute for His glory.

Hence Paul said:

• 1Co 11:18-19 -> “For first of all, when ye come together in the church, I hear that there be divisions among you; and I partly believe it. For there must be also heresies among you, that they which are approved may be made manifest among you.”.

The contradiction is necessary so that we can see how much we are steadfast in Christ and how effective is our ken. If we can’t glorify Jesus convincing the contradictors (Titus 1:9), it is a sign that we don’t know so good as we thought. If we wobble in the faith, it is sign that we need to approach of Jesus, repent and convert.

So, have a good day facing all opposition as an opportunity to appraise your spirituality and increase your knowledge and intimacy with Jesus.

It is a priority to "confront" someone, which actually should be a peaceable approach as far as possible, doing so with love which believers find they can do, before taking it before others for a group to deal with addressing such person.

Matthew 16:15-16
"Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother. But if he will not hear, take with you one or two more, that ‘by the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.’"

You ask if it is okay to confront someone. Confront is far too harsh a term and action. Instead use tact in letting your views be known. Always be respectful of another and their views. Most importantly, let your views be known by your actions of love and following Christ. Confront someone, NO! Make your views be known, YES?
