Hello everybody,

I am a man from Bulgaria, who was saved before 3 months. I am still new and finished New Testament, now read Exodus in Old Testament.
Since English is not my native language, I use Bible translations mostly in Bulgarian, but I also have KJV, NKJV and NIV in English. I use app Olive Tree and Youversion, Tecarta too sometimes.

Which one is better to start one? I need suggestion on that. I hear reading in foreign language can help for better understanding?

God bless you !

The Jubilee Edition of the 1871 Constantinople Bible and the Bulgarian Synodal Bible are based on the Received Text of the Protestant Reformation scholars - carried out by Protestants and these two original texts mirror the clausal spoken and written parse of the KJV 1611 version. So if you want to derive a spoken or written comprehension of your Bulgarian (Slavonic) bible you may need to rely on the original King James.

If you are simply desiring to improve your English then you may need to look to Bulgarian translations based on the Critical Text scholars.

Welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum.
They all work. They all are fairly good.
The slow reading and concentrating on the scriptures is always a great thing.

The most important thing to keep in mind is that the Bible was written a long time ago when paper and ink were very expensive...printing presses were not invented. So the writing was extremely compact.

I like KJV, but it is 400+ years old. The English in NIV is much more modern. NKJV might be somewhere in between.

A warm welcome to CC! :):coffee:

Jesus taught that ALL things are new in Him, two of the four Gospels tell in the very first that they were written to tell who Jesus is, and after 2,000 years we pretty much all know who He is.
Ephesians onward is pretty much where we are.
It is best to ask Him to reveal His truth from His word and He will as He is looking for vital, personal, one on one , relationship more that merely reading about Him.
Kenneth Wuest translation of New Testament is very good and some of the Amplified and Berean are as well very good. The Greek of the NT can require a paragraph to fully reveal the meaning of a word.
welcome and best wishes:):coffee:(y)
